They've won 4 of 6, and are first in the Atlantic (no accomplishment there). But they looked good against the Cavs despite the lead that they blew. it's funny because they do this every year: Start out snail slow, then they pick it up 20-30 games in to the season. Do you think the Nets could hit their stride going into 2007?
Every year it seems that the Net's have a big winning streak in the 2nd half of the season. I wouldn't worry, I think they can easily win the division. They ALWAYS have an amazing streak of games it seems...with that division nobody will be able to keep up with them.
I think we could, and possibly go even farther in the playoffs this year with the east not nearly as good as last year. Miami is not the same, but yet we are still 0-2 to them I cant believe that. Then Detroit is defiantly not the Pistons that have been great theres last couple of years. Who's the biggest opponent after those two? The Cavs? I think we could beat them in the playoffs, I really don't see them as being a elite team. I don't know maybe its me being a homer, but I really believe if we play good like last night (And by the way RJ had to hurt ankles and really couldn't attack the basket) we have a chance to win the east. IF we play like we did last night. If we play inconsistent like the beginning of the year, we have no shot in hell.
I have said this numerous times: New Jersey will eventually get it together, make a run around the All-Star break, they will win the division, and they will be ready for the playoffs. They have gotten off to a rocky start and they have had some injuries (including their 3rd best player in Richard Jefferson)... all that aside from them basically knowing that Vince probably won't even re-sign with them. It's not an easy pill to swallow, but I think in the end, they will get it together, and they will make noise. They will be ready come playoff time.
Why are people saying Vince is defiantly leaving and sh*t like that? How do you people know? Do you guys know him personally and know what he wants to do? Last time I checked he said he loved it here and loves playing with Kidd. Not to mention hes getting paid around 15 million a year. If your happy and getting paid, why the hell would you leave? Please stop saying that hes basically gone already, because it is far from the truth.
The Nets are defenetlycoming around. I was at the Nets vs Phoenix game and since then I have seen significant improvement. Alotugh they did not win soon after, their style of play was getting better and their intensity was also getting better. Now the Nets are picking up momentum and could soon make a run and run away with the horrendous atlantic division. Vince Carter is playing well, and I doubt he'll leave, altough I do think hell test the market. Kidd is also playing great, and is a consistant triple double. RJ IMO has been dissapointing and has not been playing well, so if he starts playing as well as he can they will really be a team that can do some damage in the leagues
Well, I think that everybody expected them to come around some time. A team with that much talent HAS to win. And with the division that they are in, they have zero competition which is very sad. As for what JKidd was talking about the nets being able to win the east, I strongly disagree with you. Sure, the Heat arent the same, but you have lost to them twice this year and they dont even have Shaq. The Pistons are still the Pistons. They arent the same that they were with Big Ben, but IMO, they are still the best team in the East. The bulls always seem to play well in the playoffs, and they are so explosive if they ever pull their head out of their ass. And the Cavs have Lebron....Do I think that the nets are capable of making it to the ECF, probably. But I dont think that they will do it. J Kidd is still playing great IMO and Nenad is playing pretty well also, but Jefferson has to many question marks, and VC is too inconsistent. To me, when he plays up agaisnt a good defender, he seems to not play very well at all. He ends up forcing up alot of bad shots and shoots a bad percentage. But on other nights, he is simply amazing.....He is too inconsistent IMO. This team has talent, but I dont think they can make it to the finals, and if they somehow did, they would lose in 5 to any team in the west. (Dallas, SA, and Phoenix)
We lost to them once with shaq, and once without. That was when we started off very bad, and now we are starting to get it together. I think we are the best we have been in the last 3 years now. Jkidd is playing like it was 2001 and he lead us to the finals. I think Kristic is getting better every game, and Carter is Carter. While I think we are getting better, the heat are getting worse. They are older, Shaq is declining and Wade cannot carry the load by himself. The Pistons are not nearly as good as they were last year, how could you say that? Lets see you lose Ben Wallace and get Narz Mohammed and your the same? Come on, for obvious reasons they are not the same. I think we could beat them in a 7 game series if we played the way we are now. If we have Carter chucking up 3s and Jefferson not doing anything, we could possibly get swept. I really think if Kidd plays at the top of his game, we have a chance. Im not saying that its a deffinant, but dont say its unthinkable. We have a CHANCE if we play good to make a deep run in the playoffs and possibly the finals. I dont think we have a shot at any team that comes out of the west, if they are from Phoenix or Texas. Again I just think we have a chance to make it because the east is just so bad this year.

But either way, I'm sorry to make you mad, but Vince most likely isn't returning to New Jersey. He recently got a divorce, and Vince has a kid with this woman who is planning on moving back to Florida. Put 2 and 2 together... what's more important? Playing with a PG you like, or seeing your kid?

I'm not sure if his wife and kid moved back to Orlando.
The Nets always scare me when I look at their roster, but their play just doesn't match up at all. They just cant get over that hill for some reason - I would imagine that they would be repeat competitors for the ECF - but they always fall out early.
When I saw that game last night, I have to give them some credit. They will definitely win the division, pretty much by default, but they are pretty scary. They need help down low, because Mikki Moore and Josh Boone don't scare anybody. The draft could provide them with a solid big man.
Hopefully RJ or Carter gets hurt for a while to slow them down a bit. I really hope the Raptors win the division....

I think both the Knicks and Raptors are going to give the Nets a good run in the Atlantic Division. New York has alot of talent, and are right in the thick of things right now. The Raptors have alot of talent, and are first in the division at this point in time. So I really believe they will not win by default, it will be a closer race in the Atlantic than you would think it will be.
