Buffalo must not have liked the convos they had with Cam regarding a contract. Lehner will still be restricted when his current deal runs out. May set the price for Cam, but one less bidder now...
If we were thinking EDM could give up the 16th for Talbot, then it's perfectly within reason the Sabres would give up the 21st for Lehner, who is 4yrs younger (almost to the day) and will be a longer term solution. By the time the Sabres are ready to contend again Lehner will only be 26-27, while Talbot would already be hitting 30. I like the trade for both parties.
Well I think it makes more sense for Buffalo to acquire Lehner give his RFA status and age. The obvious problem with teams trading for Talbot is he is a UFA after this year. Hopefully he has a desire to play and get extended in Edmonton and the Rangers get a good return from them
Anticipation of the Cam trade is great. Do the Rangers get into the first round? If they do, it will include other players..... both ways.
