Cam Talbot will be traded but the Rangers are still mulling things over
    June 26th, 2015 8:48 am
[IMG]6/26/15 | 8:49AM: The Rangers are still mulling over the offers they have for Cam Talbot but he will be traded.(Dreger)

Dreger said on TSN1050 this morning, “It depends on Jeff Gorton, Glen Sather and the New York Rangers. Four teams have made what they believe to be acceptable offers. Some around the Rangers believe that the offers on the table for Cam Talbot are acceptable. You can’t blame Gorton and Sather for playing this mini-auction game. There is no rush from their perspective. They feel that they have a captivated audience.”

The Rangers are hoping to get a first round pick for Talbot. Teams have been granted permission to speak with Talbot.

    Drumroll please. LOL

Official prediction (since apparently they are being morons and not packaging him with another player):

Either to EDM for Marincin and a 2nd, or to SJ for Karlsson and a 3rd. If the latter happens, bye bye Hagelin.

I don't like the idea of just two 2nd round picks. Rather have a 2nd and an NHL ready prospect up front so they can deal Hagelin. I have no interest in paying him 3.5+ which his delusional ass will want.

Never say never with stupid GM's out there, but we're talking about a 27yo career back up with 50 career games in the NHL with other goalies also available. We're not exactly trading a top rated prospects.

Rumor is Lehner just went for Legwand and the 21st pick to Buffalo. He's only 23. I kind of like him. However, I didn't think they would give up the 21st for him. I'd rather have Talbot.

If Lehner is an rfa or signed i can see why they would give up 21, plus Legwand for however long. Sather better not wait too long, take 33 and a prospect which is a fair deal.

Essentially Ottawa just dumped Legwand and his contract... Why can't the Rangers do the same

Hockey media on the Rangers taking day
off of Day 1 of hockey draft....essentially
"....nobody cares (what the Rangers are/
    aren't doing)". Already anti-NYR mode.

Just love the nhl coverage. They can all
    go stick it!

Wonder if they would trade Talbo for all 3 of Calgary's second rounders

Several reports that Panthers kicking tires on Talbot. Hmm. Their picks: 11, no 2nds, 2 thirds...

Flames, for what it's worth, have the 15th overall pick, too.

NYR are meeting now. Flames are pushing hard for Talbot. Oilers, Stars and Sharks still in mix. Two 2nds plus get it done?

See this is why the Lehner trade is a good thing. The team who need a goalie NEED Talbot now. Drop off is big.

If Lehner nets a 1st + and these teams value Talbot over Lehner this is a really good thing.

Dreger: NYR have been offered a 1st rounder for Talbot. Not from Oilers or Flames. Dallas, SJ and Florida still involved. 1st isn't a deal maker.

Dreger: NYR are looking for the best overall package, even though a 1st round pick for Talbot is attractive.

Dallas, SJ and Florida's picks are way too high. I'm thinking perhaps the Jets with two first rounders in the 20's have entered the sweepstakes.

Brooks now saying they have to give up more or take a bad contract. No thanks on the bad contract. No way in hell I'm taking Bolland at that money. Dallas might want to unload Hemsky. Pass.

Where things are with the Cam Talbot trade right now
    June 26th, 2015 4:55 pm
[IMG]6/26/15 | 4:55PM: According to John Shannon of Sportsnet, the trade discussions for Cam Talbot will continue onto the draft floor. (John Shannon)

San Jose, Florida, Dallas and Edmonton are believed to be the teams interested in Talbot.

The Rangers have been offered a first round pick as part of a deal for Talbot but they are searching for the “best overall package.”

The first round pick being offered to the Rangers is believed to be from San Jose, though it has not been confirmed that the first round pick is in the 2015 draft.

Edmonton said that they will not trade #16 to acquire a goalie and offered that pick to Boston as part of a package to try and acquire Dougie Hamilton. (Haggerty)

I'm more concerned that we may do nothing because we wait too long. Please don't let it be so.

The HF boars are blowing up with a potential deal with San Jose:

    To SJ: Talbot - Hagelin - 2nd
To NY: Joe Thornton, 9th Overall

Sharks would keep 2m in salary (only thing currently holding up deal is the retention). Thornton only willing to waive to come to New York (leading to the less than market value return). In line with Brooks tweet earlier that there is a first on the table, but contingent on taking a bad contract back.

Klein is then traded for picks on day 2.

Just a rumor, and just posting just for discussion purposes. Joe would be here for 2 years on 4.75 per if true. Hayes goes to wing.
