Olshey has done a great job of creating cap space. Yes, we still have some holes but we also have some very versatile players. I am very happy with additions of Henderson, Plumlee and Vonleh. GH is the kind of slasher/driver we've needed for a season or three.

I think we'll see some real activity toward DeAndre Jordan and Greg Monroe. Both, should LMA walk.

Jordan is meeting with 4 teams his agent says and we are not one of them. Monroe is almost a lock to go to NY according to reports.

If Jordan leaves the Clippers, it will be for the Lakers IMO. They want him badly.
Monroe to the Knicks seems likely if rumors are true.

I GUARANTEE you we will not get either of those. Monroe is headed to NY, and Jordan doesn't even have has listed as teams he will talk too..

Olshey is preparing to build around Dame, Cj, Meyers, Plumlee core.. Then spend the money he has on role players and what have you

I have a gut feeling that we are in fact going to push hard and fast for Monroe, he can get same money here as NY, and the team is better suited for a guy his age. The nice thing is it could be enough to change Lamarcus' mind and stay, or even if he left Monroe is the right age to be a solid foundation piece for this team going forward with Lillard.

Can't pretend I've watched Monroe that much but isn't he a bad fit next to LA?

Yes. He's a bad defender and his biggest strength is scoring on touches within 15 feet, which he wouldn't get many because that's where LMA gets his, and Aldridge would be a top option.

Offensively they'd mesh find. Monroe has a really good back to the basket game and midrange face up game.

    Defensively...

    Yikes.

I wouldn't go after Monroe WITH LA...

    I say:
make toxic offer sheets to all the interesting RFAs, one after the other - Kawhi Leonard, Draymond Green, Khris Middleton - and watch them all be matched at the last minute. Then throw up your hands and say "gave it a shot" and sign Andre Miller.

Lets not overpay Monroe the 5th best PF in FA who isn't worth a max and I shudder at the thought of giving Jordan a max. If it takes giving Jordan a max to keep LA then i'd do it otherwise I'm not giving him a max contract unless it has a stipulation that he loses 500k every game he shoots under 60% from the line in!

you forgot "just say that you're going to make a toxic offer to an RFA, then when the other team says 'nah, we'd match that', withdraw it." Then go to part two of your plan.

I don't see how he fits into what NY is trying to do. Yes, he is talent but still, Other than rebounding, his skill set is better suited for a different offensive system.

Really? I not a huge fan of his overall game but he is probably in the top 3 of best passing PFs in the league. And of course you know that NY runs the Triangle now.

He is normally blessed with truly great SGs but they aren't getting one this time. When Jordan was gone he ran it through Pippen and Kukoc. Basically he just runs it through his best player. He tried to do that with Melo though but he isn't the best passer and it went horribly. He really just needs to scrap it but he won't.

I just think there are better options for Greg and maybe even this one. He should keep his options open.
