2 on 2 out, great slide by DiDi to take out the 2nd baseman covering the bag, to stay out of a DP.....A-Roid ends the rally........ Calling all Batters.........SOS........!!!
No Brett inherited Swisher's dirty laundry, and A-Roid got Jeter's Black Book, as Alex only rolls with sloppy seconds.........!!
I'll go out on a limit here Rob & say..................................................................................................................................NEVER!
CC certainly did NOT pitch a "GOOD" game but he didn't exactly bury the team in a deep hole going 7.1 IP, 4 ER, 5 H, 1 BB....but he is allowing much much too many HRs which is indeed his undoing. Yanks (Young) were denied a few more runs by Trout making outstanding catches on drives over his head towards the CF wall WITH RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION and runners on base. I guess the Yanks would've been better off if they (Young) instead would've gotten one or two bloop singles over the SS head....lol.....it surely would've helped score more runs and of course it would've (lol) improved their team ba w/risp. That's baseball! All losses hurt but this one is a bit easier to swallow as the great Mike Trout literally took matters into his own hands. Still time to take 2/3 from Angels and go 4-3 on the road trip, and -imo- going 3-4 on the Yanks' last "West Coast" trip of the season isn't so bad in the scheme of things as July arrives. GO YANKS!
Just what the hell is wrong with you? Now stop the crap, will ya? Where in this thread did I say CC had a "good performance"? I have already said...I was giving him the first two months of the season to get going and become a good consistent SP before I "pull the plug" on him...AND Drew. I have no problem, and would indeed remove him from the rotation in favor of Warren AND probably some kid from the minors who is doing well. What's wrong with you Rick? Spoiling for a beef with me? lol And what about those two hard hit line drives over Trout's head which he made outstanding plays on?....WITH RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION and runners on base? Can you see where SOMETIMES your "BA w/risp" can be a bit misleading and/or also not telling the whole story in specific games and circumstances? Of course I would've preferred a couple of nice clean line drive singles from Young in those at bats...but he instead drove two hard liners towards the CF wall which Trout needed to make terrific catches to save the Angels' asses. And if Young instead would've gotten two broken bat bloop singles you would've been pointing to the Yanks "coming through in the clutch" in the box score risp department.... lmao. The idea is to try and get GOOD WOOD on the ball, not try and get bloop hits. Oh well, as the sayin' goes....that's baseball.
..."if"?...LMAO...but "bloop hits" ARE part of the RISP stat...as well are line drives that are caught. ...like shootin' fish in a barrel.
bloop hits....part of the game...of course they look like line drives in the box score. Just like smashing a hard hit two hopper directly at one of the infielders becomes 0-1 w/risp. Yep, that's the way the cookie sometimes crumbles.
blg is this an act, By saying of CC, "He didn't exactly bury the team in a deep hole going 7.1 IP & 4 ER you're excepting that as an okay performance". And you ask whats wrong with ME? I don't know where you're performing next but I wouldn't mind catching one of your shows, you're a funny guy.
