@SportsWhispers: Pacers and Warriors still looking for a 3rd team to complete the Hibbert/David Lee deal>>>>>

Kudos to Neil for not going after him.

This makes no sense to me, GS I thought desperately wants to clear capspace and get rid of lee, why would they take on Hibbert's contract which is the same as Lee's? and they already have Bogut, only thing that makes sense is Lee goes to Indy who needs a PF and Hibbert goes to the 3rd team who has capspace?

Because they're looking at it the same way that I look at it. He was an All-Star. He was a great defensive player. He could be had for peanuts. It's a savvy move.

Exactly!!! It's funny how people say "Let's be like Golden State and not get Hibbert", then they say "GS is stupid for getting this weak slow center"

Yep and I would add he's a major upgrade over Bogut defensively

    No.

Bogut was awesome last year on the defensive end.

Finished in the top 3 for DPOTY.

Ok so I watched some Hibbert highlight videos, I literally gagged at how unwatchable he is. Slow flopping no rebounding, not something I want on this team going forward.

Yet David Lee is all Indiana could get for him.

His value is so low Quick believed we wouldn't have to give up a single player and just absorb his $15m.

He's not the 2012 Hibbert anymore.

Even the current Hibbert, with the mental lapse, was the third best rim protector in the league.

    Or something.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Sorry, maybe I missed something, but how do we know that Golden State wants Hibbert? They're looking for a third team, it's entirely possible (again, unless I missed a report) that the third team would be the one to take Hibbert.

Hibbert doesn't make a ton of sense for Golden State; beyond him not fitting into their style, they already have Bogut and Festus Ezeli. Hibbert is obviously much better than Ezeli, but Ezeli is a very solid backup center and pouring that kind of money into going three deep at center doesn't make a huge amount of sense. Especially when they had a lot of success, all year, shifting into small ball alignments.

It's possible that the Warriors want Hibbert but, to me, it seems more likely that their disinterest in him is what necessitates a third team.

They don't need a 3rd team to do a swap. Both players have roughly the same sized contract.

Exactly, that's why my current belief is that the "third team" is to find a landing spot for Hibbert.

Agreed. Not for sure if Indiana is also asking for other assets that the third team would have to provide.

It could be us actually. I could see us using our cap space and Kaman to land Hibbert. This would give GS a large TE, Indiana Lee, Kaman and cap relief.
