If Hags can get on the Getzlaf line he could really improve on his offensive #s. We don't have a center of Getzlaf's caliber in NY.

No idea what type of lines they're running in ANA, but a line of Hags-Getzlaf-Perry would be really good.

There's been kind of a revolving door on the left of that line. Beleskey had it for a little while, which I believe inflated his numbers. Patrick Maroon played there in the playoffs. Hagelin could slide there, but I wouldnt be surprised if they try to play him with Silfverberg. Theyve played together before and Hagelin mentioned him in his interviews.

Good writeup on Etem with some quotes from our scouts. I think this kid is going to surprise a lot of people. I especially liked this part:

"Etem seemed to play his most consistent hockey during last year’s post-season. He was able to employ all of the solid elements of his game. For one, he killed penalties, in last year’s playoffs the winger was averaging 1:01 on the ice while his team was shorthanded, which was a big jump from averaging 27 seconds a game in the regular season. Looking at the other aspects of his game, the winger pumped 23 shots at the net, threw 34 hits, and blocked nine shots, all in 12 games. His defensive game is starting to round out, and he brings some edge as well."

Two shots and three hits per game in the playoffs is music to my ears.

Hagelin has no ability to play with Perry and Getzlaf. His offensive game sucks.

Etem has a good chance of being one of the better steals in a trade they have made.

He did score 17g last year, so if he sticks on a Getzlaf/Perry line it is well within reason that he could hit 20. He has the speed and plays a solid 2-way game that would allow Getzlaf/Perry to do their thing in the o-zone.

Read somewhere that it had nothing to do with money with Hags, but the fact that he (his agent) would only do a one year deal to get him to UFA. I think that was a non-starter for NYR, especially since someone had to go...

Don't know how true it is....

I'm sure it is true. Guys want to cash in when they hit free agency... Loyalty walks out the door most of the time... Can't blame them though
