DMC to Portland ain't happening. This year, least. I don't think management is ready to take on that personality. If kinda be happy to be wrong....
Wrong, it isn't an aggregate total since your not combing their saleries into one total to make a deal plausable, Vonleh is a separate piece of the trade.
that wing group doesn't fit well with the rest of the lineup... there's not enough shooting to space for DMC and LMA. (Frazier, Hendo, Aminu are all bad 3PT shooters) Going off your idea, heres what I'd do: Trade Gerald Henderson to OKC for DJ Augustin (Payne is their backup PG, they could use a slashing 2) Trade Noah Vonleh for a pick That leaves you with $22M in cap room Sign DeMarre Carroll ($12M), Gerald Green ($5M), Jonas Jerebko ($3M) and Gary Neal ($1M). Sign Kyle Singler to cap exception Lillard / Augustin Green / Neal Carroll / Singler Aldridge / Jerebko Cousins / Aldridge
I would like DMC in Portland. I just don't know if we can afford both him and signing LA to max money.
looks like kings are trying to lure calipari, cousins coach at UK to convince him to stay and fire Karl in the process. disfunctions definition. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--kings--john-calipari--kentucky-195614697.html
I could see this happening. Offer Calipari $12+ million a year. The new owner wants to spend and as dysfunctional as this will look it might be better than trading Cousins or trying to get him and Karl to play nice next season. Karl has a history of clashes like this so I don't necessarily completely blame Kings management for this situation. The firing of Mike Malone and some of their other moves have been horrible though.
We can easily fit both of them in the cap but the trick is filling out the roster with the other two starters and a bench. It'd clearly be a downgrade to the role players from other scenarios for this summer.
we don't need demarcus cousin, he demand the ball to score. we can't have dame, LA, and DMC demanding the ball. we need a center that can make a impact off the ball. that right i am thinking about marc gasol or deandre jordan. they can make impact on defense side. we can tell marc gasol that the window is closing in memphis with zach aging and mike conley becoming injure prone. sign marc gasol to a 19 million a year. or sign deandre to 17 mil a year, and tell him that clippers will never make it to the finals with CP3 leading the team. sign LA to max. that leaves about 5 million. sign danny green to 4 mil a year. sign cj watson to 1 mil a year. sign wes to whatever he wants since we have his bird right i believe. dame-watson-frazier wes-cj-crabbe-pat danny green-hendo-crabbe LA-meyers-vonleh marc or deandre-mason-kaman that team is deadly. dame can attack all he wants. wes can post and shoot 3's with dame penetration. danny green can take do the same thing. LA can continue his things. marc can do things that robin could never do and that driving. plus marc can shoot mid range too. on defense, the only player that might be bad is dame, but he has improve every year. our bench can probably beat a couple of eastern playoff team's starting lineup.
Let me help you by pointing out the problems in this 1. Gasol will want the max, not $19M 2. Wesleys bird rights cost us $11M in cap space, so to sign Gasol and Aldridge, we'd have to let Wes go 3. Danny Green will sign for around $10M, $4M isn't even close to getting it done. 4. You can't just get a free agent by telling him its better here, that's what every single team does when they meet. 5. To have cap space for Gasol and LA, we'd have to get rid of Kaman. That's why Cousins is a good option. He's actually gettable, would get LA to come back, and is making under $15M
