At this point I think letting Aldridge walk and signing Monroe and looking for a 3rd star might be more prudent. I dunno. I'm not going to be torn to shreds if Aldridge leaves like most.
If Portland keeps throwing money like that around Bonzi and Rasheed are going to come out of retirement.
Unless Neil blows us away with some out of the blue sign and trade bring Lamarcus to Atlanta for Horford and Carroll or Griffin with the Clipps..anything is possible. Now's the time to dream big
If clearing cap space, getting younger, or more athletic, or better on defense is the goal, why keep Kaman?
Think of it like ripping off a Band-Aid™. The roster we had got as close as it was ever going to get to being a championship contender . . . and it wasn't even that close. We're going to suck next year, but at least we won't be stuck in the muddy middle where you're just good enough to get a crap pick in the draft, but not good enough to threaten the powers of the conference in the playoffs. The end is the beginning.
Correct. (30% for a 7-9 yr vet like Aldridge and 25% for 0-6 yr vet like Monroe). If the CAP was actually $69.1M, adding in Aldridges new max of $19.5M, that would leave the Blazers with $15.7M free, and Monroe's max would be about $16.3M. Still not quite enough.
Well we probably will lose those two players but it's still really early to be looking ahead to next year's draft. It's still June........... in Oregon!
