Am I the only one that thinks we should start thinking trade for a PF or post player. I really think we can make a play for Cousins or trade for Faried and Gallinari
Welcome to the board... Sorry but your ideas are mediocre moves though. I think we use our money to get Monroe
Faried would not be bad but unless he makes us contenders (Which i don't think he would) we might as well develop Vonleh for 10 mil/yr cheaper. We don't have the assets to get Cousins w/o including Dame Leonard is better than Gallinari IMo (At least healthier) But I agree a trade could be coming....
Where does Leonard fit in all this? Is he still regarded as a bench player (as he should be on a decent team) or are we throwing him out there and tanking hard?
could be. We could hope that someone thinks our younguns are worth a bunch, and we could package enough of them plus LMA's cap space to make a lopsided trade. Kaman+CJ or Meyers to get a big-money big could work.
I'm not sure that Monroe was a guy we were going after only if Aldridge left....I don't Neil and Paul walked into the room and said hey Greg if Lamarcus leaves we want you otherwise find somewhere else....so regardless we are trying to sign him, but we may reach out to another big if he does leave or try to trade for someone, but yeah I agree with Pinwheel1 we don't have a lot of assets to go after higher priced guys in a trade.
Do not mention Faried..too painful. Would be sad t ohave to get him in trade when we could have easily PICKED him...sigh..I know..I know. At least the guy we picked turned out real goo...ok stopping.
If Aldridge leaves and Monroe signs somewhere else I think we need to be in pure asset acquisition phase position be damned. We can play Aminu at PF if we get a wing. We can play Damian at SG if we get a PG. We should explore trades as the Sixers are doing to give Sacramento cap room. We wouldn't be looking for a roster ready to play with its best players at specific positions right now. Instead we would want to acquire as many pieces with upside that can increase in value. Perhaps in 6 months or a year we have enough pieces to trade for an available allstar and pair him with Damian.
I like this idea. See what a Leonard/Plumlee starting front court gives you and max out Tobias Harris at the 3. Leonard and Plumlee could be a real good frontcourt... both can run the floor, both are extremely long and athletic (same goes for Vonleh too). See if Harris can become your legit 2 option / 20 ppg guy if he signs. If not then oh well, start Aminu. I'd also start CJ to see what he could do with 30 min per game. Who knows, he may be able to defend at a solid level and give you 15/5/5.. that's the thing, we know CJ, Meyers and Plumlee can play, we just don't know how good (or great) theyd play with consistent starter minutes.
Oh and give Dame the ball and see if he can become a real floor general that can control the whole game on the offensive end.
Yeah thanks. But I'm not sure where all the Tobias Harris ideas come from. Tons of Laker fans and media think they can easily get him if they want. He's a restricted free agent and Orlando is expected to match a max offer.
Especially now that they lost out on Millsap. But I will say that if there is one guy who takes the 1 year QO to leave next year then it is him.
