Maybe we'll have some draft picks now.

But look who's the Asst. GM?
Mr. Jim Schoenfeld. Don't like him or
his nhl history, on and off the ice.

It's the right move to give Gorton the
    the Ranger reigns.

Ehhh...Sather's smelly cigar is still going to be in the organization. It's a title change...that's all. Gorton and Schoenfeld have been running player personnel for this team for past 5 yrs or so. Sather handles money side....nothing changes. What would change anyone's belief that he's in charge will be for Gorton to deal from our supposed strength of D to get a top six forward back. Then I'll believe he's in charge.

Agree w/ JD30. I don't see much difference as Sather is still going to be around as Prez

What changes now with Sather being President?

Jeff Gorton: “Well, I would say that there is not a lot changing other than I will have the final decision on players. We have a really good staff with a lot of good people in place. To have someone like Glen in our corner to bounce things off and talk to about what we are thinking. That is obviously a benefit to me and everyone here.”

Has the team improved from the end of the season?

Jeff Gorton: “I would like to think so. We have added some pretty good players and depth but to say yes right now is a tough one. We will know as we move forward and see if we can add players and improve in some areas. I would like to say yes but you would probably disagree with me so we will see how it plays out.”

Hard to argue that right this second we are better than we were last season. Not a finished product though.

Were not. Gorton knows it but isn't going to rip his new signings. Were still early, 1 good signing away from a much better team
