But that's why he's about the only RFA that could be gotten. I'm actually agnostic on the guy. I honestly haven't watched him play much. But I like that he's multi-talented. Of course, so was the SF we just traded.
We finally agree on something! Tobias would've been my #1 guy for this roster based on his age if LMA left.
I wish I watched him more. I've seen him play several times, but he ever stuck out to me, for good or bad. But reading up on him, sounds like a young, skilled and very versatile player with bucket loads of potential.
If we do a Mini Max for Monroe and Toby, how much is left after that? Like 5MM? Enough to bring in another decent piece?
Now that it's all but certain LMA is going to the Spurs, I think throwing a max offer at Harris would be a good move, assuming Monroe signs with us. We need as much talent as possible with Aldridge exiting, unless we plan to tank, which doesn't appear to be the case. There aren't any good, young SGs in free agency, so although we already have a SF that is a capable starter (Aminu), we should just go all in, assembling the best basketball team that the cap allows. Offering the max to Harris would be most likely way to pry away a young, talented player in FA. But in the end, I think the Magic will match.
Harris fits the Olshey MO. 25 or under and an advanced stats positive in a lot of areas. Does Neil have any previous connection with him? That seems to be the other part that is missing.
gary washburn@GwashburnGlobe 24h24 hours ago Have been told the #Magic will not match a max offer to Tobias Harris, so the market value has been set. #Celtics Might as well. Throw darts at the wall.
Oh...you mean the Scott Skiles that threw him in the dog-house in MIL and then sent him to ORL for scraps?
