We absolutely can. And we should. PG - Lillard SG - McCollum SF - Aminu PF - Leonard C - Plumlee You play them 30+ MPG and see what you have. Save your cap space. Gather assets. Hope you draft well.
I feel worse than the Laker fans right now. They have an excuse why they can't nab free agents. Ours is "no one wants to play for Portland"
Carlos Boozer. He's cheap. He can still play some. 12/7 in 24 MPG, 16.4 PER. NO DEFENSE. Or Ed Davis (is he still available?)
At least you won't have to hear me complain about LAs turn around fade away jumpers, or Batum's crappy passeses anymore
That was supposed to be every free agents reaction to the question " Would you like to come play for the Portland Trail Blazers?"
1 year mini tank, hope that some of the youngsters develop further. Use cap space to absorb some salary to gain a pick or two. Draft a stud next year and have 60+ MM cap room next off season. I said it in another thread: Dame Cj Aminu Nards Plums Hendo NV Hairy spainish dude Crabbe Would be fun to watch lose at least. I would actually be half excited to see CJ and Nards get 32 mpg.
Cap space did little good this summer and next season almost every team will have cap space due to the large increase in the cap.
We're just going to have to accept that we're not getting any good players if it doesn't come from organic growth. And even when we do, they'll leave us in 9 years after telling us they want to be the best Blazer ever. See you later Dame (in 2021).
Might as well sign even more athletic guys and lead the league in pace. We're going to suck so have some fun with it.
To bad stupid Kings already finalized that trade. Would've been the type of deal Id want us to do and we could've combined it with a Wes sign and trade.
What's next? Good question. None of the FAs left excite me and I doubt we can get anyone through a trade either. Time to tank because it's obvious the draft is the only way this team is going to improve.
Can't believe I'm saying this but sign and trade lma to the rockets. They can give us DMo Ariza and an unprotected pick.
