Neil was quite adamant and almost indignant about his 'Plan', having contingencies for every scenario. All fine and good but then there is the part about being able to execute the plan. Of course nothing is guaranteed but if Rolo, LA, Wes, Afflalo, (a 1st round pick), Wright, Freeland and Gee all leave for NOTHING but cap space to sign Aminu, one can't help but wonder about the reality of that plan or any future plan coming to fruition.
I have a feeling Olshey's wind has left his sails. I wouldn't be surprised if he feels defeated right now
It may be Plan T for Tank. I don't doubt Neil having his plan and you can't make players sign or re-sign, but the reality of where you are as a destination seems to be fairly important historically in terms of what you can get and who will come here.
What's funny is most players that come through Portland usually end up loving it, but we still can't attract a FA anyway.
He really needs to grasp that FA's don't come to Portland. We need to build through the draft and trades. Aminu was drafted by Olshey, so thats an anomaly
That seems reasonable so of those 8 Blazer Free Agents, some of them should have been traded for pieces even if it was young players or Draft picks. At least they would be assets that could be traded where you have some control.
Whats worse about this Monroe plan is that it just put that last nail in the coffin at a possibility of seeing Lamarcus in a Blazer uniform. Dark times, here we come again.
If Aminu is it (and that was due to a previous Olshey connection), we can't even get Hawes (thankfully) and players choose Milwaukie over Portland.....what happens when Neil runs out of guys he knew with the Clippers?
