We may. Can he play the 4? Kanter and Hibbert?

That was the rumor. If we couldn't land monroe we would try and max Kanter. I personally would rather just tank this season

It's a 45 minute drive to Chicago (depending on traffic)

    It's more than 45 minutes.

    Closer to 2 hours.

Honestly we might as well just give Wes a damn contract at this point. This is embarrassing. An all time low. Holy shit. Resign Wes and Rolo, I don't care

I would take Kanter on max but if that doesn't work out then I would tank instead and save cap space for next year (not necessarily for free agents - since we suck at that - but to use in trades).

Fair nuff. Regardless, if Monroe wants to take a drive into the city on his days off it's no big deal.

Cap space in Portland is about as useful as a snow shovel in Phoenix.

You can kick cap space down the road.

Sign guys to 2 year contracts with team option for 2nd year. Or 3 year contracts with option for 3rd. Or take on expiring contracts with current cap space.

There's no urgency to overpay for a player who's not going to make us much better.

Cap space is great. You can absorb contracts for 2nd round draft picks in trades.

Lillard on a max deal will hurt us big time. This was the summer

I'm actually for saving cap space. Yes I know everyone will have cap space and that Portland is not a FA destination, but if we draft and develop players right the next year or two, we could have an intriguing team to offer someone.

Ask Joel Przybilla. Or Terry Porter.

True...but we don't have a 2nd round pick till something like the year 2037.

Ugh, that was an example of a gift of an unanswered prayer. Hawes sucked, and we already had a guy on the roster that was much better for a fraction of the price. That's a strike against him, like when KP went after Turkoglu.

Are you kidding me? It's our saving grace. I will always love Dame for showing some loyalty knowing it could turn out badly.

He can only do so much.

But Neil does talk a big game. Milwaukee?!

Aminu, whom I like, and losing Aldridge is a tough off-season to swallow.

There are still some cool guys out there, Sergio, Green, Landry, JR Smith...

I think we should re-sign Gee too, he'd fit in with what we're building here.

It is working fine for PHI if we go the route they are going. Absorbing contracts that aren't all that desirable but players who can still play plus getting picks to do it.
