“It was a tough thing,” Davis said. “But it’s about finding the right deal at the right time and getting the financial part and security.” After also fielding interest from New York, Detroit, Golden State and Boston, Davis also narrowed in on the Trail Blazers for other reasons. Davis gushed about All-Star point guard Damian Lillard, the city of Portland and its passionate fanbase. Davis also sounded optimistic about having a significant role either to provide frontcourt depth behind LaMarcus Aldridge and Robin Lopez, or mitigate their absence should any of them leave via free agency. “No matter who is there, I’m going to fight every day for playing time. I’m confident in myself,” Davis said. “I’m going to find a way I’m on the court. I’m not worried about what they’re doing. I’m just focused on myself on how I can help the team and get better.” http://www.insidesocal.com/lakers/2...ng-lakers-i-didnt-really-want-to-wait-around/
He mentions being excited to come and play with Damian. Did Damian destroying the Lakers play a part in convincing Ed? Those were some of Dame's best games of the year.
I see that Ed Davis has a black accent. People who post to Oregonian articles will write disparaging but nonracist things. After a while, the Oregonian will write negative but nonracist things about him. That will influence the majority of posters to find bad but nonracist things, whatever their motive is. Happens every time. This is another Blazer I'll be defending against the majority of posters.
I think Thibs can wait till he gets a team that, y'know, has a chance of contending in the next decade.
