Not sure why he hasn't been signed yet...probably demanding too much money, I guess. I know they are going after Ward but I prefer Fehr, since he is younger and better offensively.

Not sure he is better on O.

Past two seasons for Fehr 13 goals and 31 points AND 19 goals 33 points. Plus 37 playoff games with 6 points total.
Past two season for Ward 24 goals and 49 points AND 19 goals and 34 points. Plus 53 playoff games with 35 points total.

To me I think Ward is the better offensive player, but at worst it is a coin flip. Fehr is 4.9 years younger, but Ward is much better in the playoffs. I rather have Ward unless the money was much less for Fehr, which I doubt. I actually think Ward could be cheaper due to age.

Rather have Ward he is better in playoffs. Plays physical and good playoff points guy. I don't see why people wouldn't want Ward I think he's great option and fit

5 years is a huge difference to me. Not sure about signing 34 year old players. He is on decline.

Depends on the term. 2 years is fine

Nobody is getting absurd contracts this year and neither will Ward

On the decline based on what though Step...just because you say he should be at 34.5 years old? He was the Caps leading playoff scorer. Scored 19 goals last season. I see no reason he wouldn't score 18-20 goals and 35-38 points.

And Dis is 100% right, we are talking about two years max...maybe 3, no one is signing Ward to a 4 year deal or longer. Maybe 2 years 6 mill +/- would be my guess. 2.7 to 3 mill AAV over 2 or 3 years.

AAV was a little higher than I thought. I was thinking 3 tops, and Ward's AAV is 3.275. Surprised he got 3 years as well. A year more than I thought and maybe 250 K more per than I thought.

I'm telling you, Tlusty will give you great value for 3m..move him to wing if needed.

I don't think the Rangers want to bring in anybody on more than a one year contract. Personally, I think they would be stupid to do so. Buchnevich is coming next year. There is a good chance he won't need any AHL time next year when he arrives.
