I personally don't think you're going to get Winslow back in a deal. That's one of Riles pieces. You might get Porzingis because no one outside Phil wanted him in New York. But dont see us getting Winslow.
If Riley had a choice in the matter, I absolutely disagree. The roster they have now is a roster of 2-3 year window. Winslow isn't part of that window. If we told them, hey we will take the medium contracts with Winslow for Aldridge, while they kept Dragon, Wade, Deng, Aldridge and Bosh... Hell whiteside as a back up, he would jump on it immediately. Remember, he would love to knock out James each year in the playoffs. Don't think he's not salty!
That would be too sweet. Would love that deal but I think if he was to make a deal he would do anything in his power to keep Justice.
We don't need anymore PF/Cs that are young but really not that good. Basically most of those trade scenarios.
Lets assume he goes to SA....how worthwhile would it be for us to try for a trade exception? (Since we are already under the cap) And what would the likely scenario be to get it? It does last a year....
Would be a great idea for us because it gives us more options on how to take on bad contracts to get picks
As reported in another thread: Both of these teams have cap space to absorb him. They don't need us, they're not giving us anything.
That is why I was asking about the trade exception. I can think of a few examples when a team did not need the sign and trade but did it anyway to help out the other team. I want to say it was for such scraps as a 2nd round pick. But it was enough for the team to get the large trade exception.
I thought in order to have a TE you must be over cap. Meaning if you use the cap space to sign a player like Aldridge you have to renounce him. Or trading him, then you don't have that cap space
