Funny stuff Lundy. I am not a child so don't put people on ignore, makes me laugh that dump does that, but also makes perfect sense. The rest of your post is simply dump being dump. We all enjoy it in here. I know I love reading his posts, and aside from not being a child, I would never put him on ignore...too enjoyable to read his posts. You are all morons...I will come up with 700 trades that will never happen...yada yada yada. Awesome stuff.
Yandle for Lucic was 10 years ago? Ignore trailer park trash...LOL. You are AWESOME dump. Once again I BEG YOU to please keep posting like you do. It is great comic relief for the board. PLEASE keep doing you.
I dont think it's the Staal deal itself that hurts us. I still think his deal and Girardi's deals are favorable and slightly below market rate for defenseman like that. See Brooks Orpik last summer. And I see your points on Girardi. Staal is the better player, but Girardi's durability and right-handedness add extra value that makes him harder to replace. What I think hurts us is that once we got Yandle we're very left-side heavy, and Staal is hindering Yandle from playing top 4 minutes. It's almost a waste to have him on the third pair. An offensive guy likes that need minutes to get in a rhythm. I wish AV wasnt so set in this L-R pairing thing, I think Staal-McDonagh and Yandle-Girardi could be two very good and well-balanced pairs next year.
I think it is the Staal deal on top of already having Girardi and McD and Klein locked up longer term. If Staal was done and we didn't have all of those other dmen locked up, yeah I agree the AAV itself is below market value he would have gotten as a UFA, but with all else being in place signing Staal was a mistake I now think. To me it still all adds up to dealing Klein to add the foward we need badly. Then make the top 4 what you called out, whatever the pairings may be. We agree there Prod.
The one thing I do firmly believe though is if they don't deal Klein it shows they have little to no faith in McIlrath...hard to argue that. If they believed in Mac they would deal Klein now and go with Mac and Diaz as the 6th dman duo. So to me out of this whole thing we will clearly know where the team stands on Mac, double so since he cannot be sent down without going through waivers.
Not sure how a one year 2 million dollar contract hurts the following years cap..but then again.... Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
