    seems a bit like either a) over-late damage control from LMA's camp, or b) yet another LA transplant (no offense) bringing his smarm and lying-ass ends-justify-means patronizing BS to my team. Frankly, I'm not sure which I believe more. It'd be easy to just dump on LMA, but there are multiple articles (including Eggers' that I posted from earlier) that show b).

    Covering his ass from what? He plays for the Spurs now. What fans in Portland think of him isn't going to impact his "brand" one bit. The only reasonable reason he'd try to spin something to cover his ass would be if he had come back and wanted to mend fences.
