Agreed. Happy for him. Amazing though how quickly he slammed into that wall. He scored 20 goals last season and was a solid player for us most of the regular season. Then late in the season and the playoffs he was a disaster...hit him fast. Great career though. Good for him.
I dont buy it ...slow down a bit ok..less on a shot ok...but his fitness shouldn't deteriorate like that in one half of a season thr way it did Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
If it was an injury why wouldn't he play next season? You could be right, but he also could have hit the wall after a long season at age 40...who knows.
dont get me wrong i agree that age played a huge role in it...i bet if the rangers offered him a contract he would have continued, dont think at his age he wanted to uproot and move to another new city..i think that is the big reason for him calling it quits...
Like others said I think he just hit the wall. Small frame and he played hard every night. A lot of playoff game on top of that as well. 40 years old and he's done.
