If John Wayne was one of the best ever, who is the worst today? IMO Any film or vid with Andy Dick. Even his name reflects his shitty work. Oh a close second is David Spade. His Joe Dirt character is exactly that.

OK, Modern Westerns weren't included in my broad spectrum... I was more talking traditional westerns...

IMO the last really good western made was Clint Eastwood's "UNFORGIVEN" I wish westerns would come back but it just doesn't have the following that it did when there were around 25 western series on TV back in the 60s. Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Wanted dead or alive, Cheyenne, Laramie, Rifleman, The Virginian & Big Valley just to name a few.

Oh. They made shitty westerns in the old days because;;;;;;;;;; the revolvers never ran out of ammo, the Indians were mass murderers and stupid, women either whore in the salon, attached to a large stew pot or baked in the field and the clean shaven asshole hero never sweat. Also the complete western history of this country was dictated by chinsey scripts written by clueless jackasses from the city. Would you agree? Since the History channel was invented it changed my perspective of the asshole white man citizen of this US government.. What they did to the Chinese on the railroads is another novel of distaste.

Hey Rick. Clint exposed the cruel jackasses who kept women and the afflicted down under their boot. He actually awakened people and this movie illustrated that point to the "T" Clint was and is THE best Western role actor ever. Ponderosa,Wagon train and Hop a long Cassidy dudes are 1960's advertising agency bullshit. Big PLUS to ya :drinkapint:

I've always loved Eastwood's work, albeit Acting, Directing, or a combo thereof.....

Unforgiven is a Classic IMO, as well as Pale Rider, and of course any of His Spaghetti Western's.......Hell, I enjoy any and all of Clint's work, even if they're not Westerns..

Not to mention that 90% of the Indians were played by white guys.

One of my favorite Western's not involving Eastwood, is: "Valdez Is Coming" uncanny how he hits everything (that is moving) a mile away, with an old Sharps Buffalo Rifle....

High Plains Drifter, or Hang 'em High..........:cowboy:

I bet Hollyweed, had GPS on those Crooked Arrows, (while galloping on Horses too), never have figured out, how they got those 6 shooters, to endlessly shoot ammo without reloading, still scratching my head........:smiley-hmm:

You know both Chuck Connor's and Jack Palance both lived about 1/2 hr north of here, in the Tehachapi Mts......not far from each other either........

2 Classics, Branded and Rifleman, or back to Clint with Rawhide.......
