I will never like the Spurs and pray for the day they are no longer good at basketball but I also respect them. I want to know how you guys feel about this team since one of your top players bolted to sign with them, and they got D. West for vet minimum on top of that.
Love them; great management and how could you not like Duncan, Parker, Ginobli, Robinson? They've built a winning culture - in a relatively small market. I'm not sure why anyone would dislike them. That said, I don't hope they win or anything and I really don't care about LaMarcus leaving as much as most people do; I think we hit our ceiling with him. He wasn't ever going to lead this team to the title as te #1 option.
Hate that Duncan preached do as I say not as I do re: LA. Atlas, they play the right way and Kawhi is a Gem so I'll probably end up rooting for them in the playoffs.
The Spurs are like that one guy in high school who got all the right breaks and ended up having a great career. The Blazers are like that moody guy nobody liked who worked twice as hard and ended up working at Les Schuab.
Same. Loved Robinson and Rodman growing up. Same with Duncan, Sean Elliot, Avery Johnson. Liked ginobili, Patty mills, kawhi Leonard. Now they can go f themselves
Im a fan of the spurs skills to recruit. They are and pretty much always have been contenders and with the addition of LA and David West also with theere returning players i wouldn't be surprised to see them make it to the finals this year.
The way I feel about the Spur is that they have there own forum, as do the Clippers and Mavs..we need another around the NBA thread to merge all these other team topics
I respect their coaching staff, scouting/player developmental system, and some of their players. That's about it. All that respect goes out the door once they face our team on the court. Then the Blazer Maniac takes over and demands carnage in the form of a Blazer win!
I wish their GM, coach and players played in Portland. Hell, I'll take their owner while we're at it.
This, I'm bitter and hope this turns out like the Lakers Gary Payton/Karl Malone experiment. I hope #12 goes into a pout/ mope because he's not the main guy. I hope he is so unhappy he opts out when he can. And that he wants to come back to Portland to finish what he started and we tell him no thanks. Finally I hope he never ever ever wins a ring.
