For those of you that went to a meet and greet several years back, there were some talks about a Blazers Clique of malcontents, including: Gerald Wallace Jamal Crawford Marcus Camby Ray Felton (?) Who were basically locker room cancers and trying to fuck the Blazers up from the inside I believe. Which is why they were all dealt pretty quickly or not resigned for one reason or another. Being that LaMarcus Aldridge's best friend in the NBA is Jamaal Crawford, do you think that LMA was part of this and was this the plan all along? :MARIS61:
I recall around that time, that Aldridge very quickly instagram'ed a selfie of him in a Chicago Bulls hat while driving in his car. Wonder if there was a deal brewing there at some time and he thought it was going to go through.
EL PRESIDENTE must read minds. Since LMA deserted the Blazers, this topic has been on my mind alot. I have many questions on this topic, but no answers. 1) Starting with, was LMA’s moody quirky personality responsible for some of the locker room problems, and also causing new players to have a difficult time adjusting to the team? 2) How could Jamal Crawford be the 6th man of the year twice, both before and after he was a Blazer, but have his worst season of his career as a Blazer? Something was not right here, both on an off of the floor. I was not aware LMA and Jamal were best friends; however, my gut has been telling me that LMA may have been part of the problem. 3) Gerald Wallace was the perfect citizen while a Blazer. He did not impress me as a malcontent. Marcus Camby also did not appear to be a malcontent. Both players appeared to be well adjusted professionals during the 10/11 season. What would have changed during the 11/12 season? 4) A major player change made for the 11/12 season was the Andre Miller trade for Raymond Felton. Not very many fans like fatty Felton, but was he the locker room problem during the 11/12 season? 5) 11/12 was Craig Smith’s only season as a Blazer. He also did not appear to be a malcontent. Was Craig a problem? 6) 11/12 Patty Mills was out and Nolan Smith was in. However, Nolan did not appear to be a malcontent. How much was Patty missed in the locker room? Probably more than most fans realize. 7) Since the 11/12 season, several free agents have also had a difficult time adjusting to, and fitting in with the Blazers roster including Dorell Wright and Arron Afflallo. Why? Yes, during the 11/12 season something major wrong was going on. However, were the players causing the problems traded, or, was the player that was causing the problem kept because he was the best player on the team at the time, and moves were made to keep him happy? We probably will never know the entire truth. But now that LMA is gone, it is time for Dame to take over and lead this team, both on and off of the floor. Show us you’re the man now Dame, LMA tucked his tail between his legs and ran away. Sorry for the long post, but this topic has been bothering me for a long time.
