The Plan wasn't that there were better alternatives than Wes, LA and Robin. It was to address what would happen given different circumstances. There were a number of players in their 30's. Now our star player is Dame who is young. Don't compare it to a team with a bunch of veterans that have played for Terry for 3 years.

Trying to find guys who compliment Dame and are still on the way up in their career.

We are trying to find guys not only that will fit in with Damian but that haven't seen their best days yet. It is a bit like playing the futures market.

I said that I think the signs were there, and I would have traded him two years ago. I don't think it's realistic that we would have traded him last summer. With that said, I've never said that he's a bad GM. In fact, I'm not entirely sure it was his call to keep LA, but I don't buy that LA wasn't deceptive. I guess that's just my gut feeling. That doesn't take away from how much I agree with all his other moves. I don't disagree with a single move he has made. It's the one move he DIDN'T make that I am disappointed in.

How good can these guys be when they are put in a nurturing environment with the opportunity to play more minutes.

Why no sign and trade? The teams weren't interested. They didn't need our participation. Why would they give up assets if they have cap room?

Other teams either weren't interested in a Sign and Trade or had the cap room to sign them on their own.

Maybe someday you'll find Neil in a bar and can demand your satisfaction.

In retrospect perhaps that last second shot by Damian against Houston wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Not lamenting the win and the moment (because it was thrilling and awesome) but it's funny when you look back and can identify a singular moment where everything tilts one way or another. Perhaps there's a parallel universe where he clanks that shot, LaMarcus demands a trade and we send him to Cleveland for Wiggins?

This is why some fans are so frustrating. Sign and trades were never viable. The CBA removed that as an option. Most fans have no fucking clue what the CBA is or how this all works. They're just mad we didn't get anything for those players and they don't understand why.

    2 questions:

Will this press conference be posted after the fact to view? I couldn't get the stream to play at work.

I've heard about having to meet the minimum team salary of $63m, is there a specific date that needs to be met?

I never said it was realistic to trade him after last season. I made my comments about trading him two years ago when the rumors came out.

In terms of position specific it is fair to say we are a little thin at backup PG and SF. We like Tim but we are also looking to see if there are guys are the market that fit our model. CJ will play some PG this year. That is Terry's deal but CJ's impact is best if he can play both positions.

See my post above. Getting out of the second round that year probably cemented this team's fate. It would have been awfully hard to sell a rebuild coming off of that huge moment.

was this in context to LMA or a 50-win team?

And it sounds like the only way you'll stop whinging about it is to talk to Neil yourself. I hope you find him.

In the context of holding onto the other starters post-LMA.
