Means if he is traded down the line that the team he goes to has to pay him more salary. Basically makes it harder to move a guy unless he waives it.

Ugh. Well come next year when the cap increases substantially it will no longer be a horrible contract. But wow, there goes defense and allowing our younger bigs to grow.

Reading that the total cost of the salary + luxury tax will be more than 40 mil/yr.

    Wow. Really forcing their hand

We need 5 IMO. So you trade Kaman. Someone will need a back up big.

Kanter IS young - turned 23 in May

Still plenty of room for him to grow

The guy is 23. His defense can improve.

But 16/9 in < 30mpg on 52% FG and 78% of the line are great foundations to build on.

Think about it this way, he's only 1 year older than Leonard. Who's to say his defense can't improve?

My first thought would be start Kanter at Center and Davis (for defense) at PF, bring Leonard off the bench at PF for 28 mpg, and Plumlee gets 15 mpg at center, and Vonleh basically gets garbage time.

Kanter is only 22 or 23. I think we move someone else before moving Kaman. Keep Kaman as a mentor. Vonleh sprained his ankle, maybe that's a sign that hmmm...

Kanter met with Dallas yesterday but signed our offer today..I like the move for what it is and Kanter has room to improve at his age..he's younger than Meyers
