I "loved" Kenny Stabler - and still do.
Always enjoyed and appreciated this swashbuckling leader/ QB.
BELONGS in the HOF - imo
God bless him and may he R.I.P.

Sad to hear about Stabler, As a QB he was nothing special but he was good. And an all around good guy.

As far as HOF, not even close. He finished his career in the top 50 in only 3 categories, Passing TDs (45th) Pass completion % (36th) And top 20 in Interceptions (17th)

    Completed passes (53rd)
    Pass attempts (55th)
    Passing yards (54th

I always like listening to Herm Edwards, He always has a way with words, Herminisms; which inspire and motivate.....NTM- a Hometown Boy Born on the Army Base in Eatontown, NJ.....speaking of The Snake, an Epic Legend,

Ken lost vital playing time in His career, by playing back up to Lamonica and Blanda. He seemed to find a way into the end zone, in ways not even Daryl or George could.......IMHO....

Damn. He invented the cocky long haired QB image. RIP Snake
I was a Raiders fan in the 70's and those Steeler-Oakland games were war. Phil Villapiano (from Long Branch NJ) is legend. Matt 23 has Herm in the same circle

There's certainly some great QBs out there today but it's difficult to judge guys of the past against guys of today. The rules especially for pass interference are completely different. QBs and receivers have such an advantage hence some of the gaudy numbers you have seen in today's game.

Mad Dog's an idiot. Stabler was a good QB but to put him over those names for even one game is just ridiculous.

...I didn't hear the whole Francessa bit but I'm guessing he was referencing what a few people have noted about Stabler, which is that in the crunch when the game is on the line, especially late in the game, he was money.

I loved the days of Stabler to Biletnikoff, regardless of "Stick 'Em" on those outstretched hands........

never heard francessa today. but mad dog honestly loved stabler. he said maybe montana if it was for his life. i understand talk shows are blow hards but the dude has watched a ton of sports and said stabler was unreal with pressure on the line. i have his football cards is as far as my stabler knowledge is. just find it hard not to take brady or rodgers and i hate brady. might be like the running back conversation with campbell, walter etc......
