not surprising. I'm pretty sure a drink costs around $30 there too. I didn't go in because it just seemed pretty intimidating, but then again a lot of churches won't even let you inside wearing shorts. Get some talcum powder. Really good for that humid fucking shit.

I love squid ink. that murky flavor is the bomb. The squid ink with spaghetti isn't as strong a flavor, its very subtle. Try the baby octopus there too, those are quite good. There's also a pretty famous gelato place in St. Marks' Square. Pretty pricy though.

Yeah, its not really the best Farmer's Market, the Boqueria in Barcelona blows it out of the water as does Campo Del Fiori in Rome. Its just a cool local vibe and some strange fish out there. All I bought were some strawberries. The walk to the other side of the Rialto Bridge was pretty cool, had some cool sun dials and stuff like that out there.
Its on the list, been looking for things to fill the day since weve done most of the other tourist shit. Had a great time walking around today checking out small artist galleries, then drinking all night and soaking up the atmosphere. We do love farmers markets tho, stumbled on a great one in Paris. Barcelona is the shit, I could spend a month here easily. Love the city vibe, food, beaches, boobs and pretty much everything else. Boqueria was crazy also! Barcelona has been a great chill stop towards the end of the trip to recharge. Especially after the heat wave in Rome, and all the walking and sights we did there. This might end up being our favorite stop. Rome was great but hot and humid, so fucking brutal till the sun went down. We stayed by the Ponte Sisto bridge close to Campe de Fiore, because that was my favorite square on my last trip, but this time we discovered the Trastevere neighborhood which was fantastic. Its mostly expats, locals, students, artists and the such so it was much cheaper to eat and more reliability good in every spot. There is pretty much everything there from vino bars to fry shops, cafes, shops and regular bars all in a small labyrinth of allys and it hops all night, plus there is a great river walk section which is like a carnival. All centrally located. Just love that neighborhood and I wont stay anywhere else in Rome next visit. Best random thing on this trip was stumbling on the Zoolander 2 shooting in Rome by the Giribaldi statue. Watched them film an action scene all afternoon, of Ben Stillers stunt double, driving by a fountain with a selfie stick and almost causing an accident. We were one of the only people who figured it out so I got to talk with an assistant director during their down time. Said its only going to be about 6 seconds of movie time, but it should be a pretty funny scene anyway. Before we figure it out we were like, look at this asshole in the convertible, with a leather jacket and a selfie stick.... hmm he looks kind of familiar. Lol yea you get 90% of the credit on that one. Your suggestion was what made me suggest it to my girl and after I did it was a must visit for her so I had to work it in. Really glad I did. Italians are funny shit, first day in Venice we saw a big fight with one guy bitch slapping the other. I got yelled at for wearing my backpack on the water taxi by some crazy hot chick, and in Rome its like frogger everytime you cross the street. It's crazy how much has been built in the last 10 years. When I lived there in 2005 I swear they were doing nothing to it. In the 2 times since then entire spires have been built. It's funny how much whiter the new segments are. They may actually finish it one day.
I could easily live there. If I suddenly got rich, I'd be there in a second. If you are still their, my favorite spot was 'orange bar' (actually called something pipa club). It's in Plaça Rieal and you ring a doorbell to get in. It was super chill and perfect for a drink and people watching down below (it's on the 2nd story). Getting lost and finding small shops and cafes in that city is the best way to spend the day.... Actually, if you are still in the city, look up Hoffmann in El Born. It's a cooking school, but they also have a pastry shop. Shit is goooooooood. Or, if you want to go on an excursion, look up spanish trails adventures. The guy who ran my school owns it and they have some fun day trips to places you probably wouldn't go on your own (castle up north, up to costa brava, etc).
There's a pretty nice Netflix documentary on it called Sagrada. I read with 3D printing and the really large influx of tourism, its gonna be crazy. Pretty nuts when they need to start evicting people out of the buildings to demolish them around Sagrada and the legal battles to ensue.
Wait, what's the plan? I lived a couple of blocks from there. I can't see why they'd need to demolish the buildings around it just to accommodate more tourists. There's only so many people that would fit in there (even with all the towers being built).
