Thibs gets to pick and choose his next job. Why should he rush to take one he doesn't want? There were 3 or 4 open, most filled by the time Chicago dragged out firing him.

Thibs isn't the only coach that their management had relationship issues with.

How do you let a coach with 6 rings go anywhere else? Paxson physically attacked Del Negro, Thibs' predecessor. They sacked Skiles on Christmas Eve. Paxson fired his former teammate Bill Cartwright after three straight years of improving records; he had surgery on his throat and couldn't scream at the players from the sideline like management wanted.

My guess is Thibs will get the Knicks or Lakers job next season. He's going to coach USA Basketball, too.

Lmao!!!! Doing the same thing you complain about Kanter, less efficiently and with off and on court distractions.

I now have put all the pieces together. Cheese is a Zach homer. Explains why he was hard on Aldridge, why he wants Memphis players and why he will complain about any big that will challenge his wet dream StatBo

I don't know if Kanter will bring much more offensively than Kaman. They are very similar offensively, but Kaman isn't a terrible defender.

I'd love PA to open his checkbook and give Thibs as much money as it takes to become an assistant coach. Let him drill into Kanter and work hard with Dame. Let him handle all the defensive schemes and let him tap into the defensive potential of Leonard, Plumlee and Vonleh. He shouldn't care if it costs $10M a year.. we're staying under the cap anyways, so if we can develop each player that's on a bargain contract to the fullest by spending an extra few million, then I say do it. Have Stotts and another shooting coach work hard with Aminu and get him over 33% from 3pt, if he does, he'll be better than Batum ever was, and he'll only be making $8M.. with the cap bump

You hit it on the head. Kanter is bare minimum Kaman at his prime. Which isn't the worst thing in the world. Kaman was an all star too so it's not that bad if they don't match.. Which they will match btw

Yes, offensively. Maybe he'll become a decent defender. I wouldn't mind if we got him, if he really sucks at D, we're really stuck with him. I wouldn't be disappointed with Kaman getting his minutes either.

They can just match. They have time later to dump contracts.

38 pages now for a signing that won't happen? Good grief. You people realize Presti was quoted that they will match just yesterday don't you?
