Well, as was mentioned by others, Kanter could theoretically suffer a freak life altering injury this afternoon. Waiting to the last minute accommodates for the infinitesimal chance of such an occurrence. Otherwise, I agree with you.
Of course he's taking his time. It's not just a matter of deciding on Kanter. Presti has to be able to present ownership with options to avoid the gigantic luxury tax hit if they do match. That means phone calls to other GMs trying to work out trade options and that takes time.
So among the ways we are screwing them is Presti has no time to work on other ways to improve his team. No matter what happens Olshey has weakened OKC for both the short and long term. Just when I thought I couldn't like Olshey more.
