Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Oklahoma City has informed Portland it has matched $70M offer sheet for restricted free agent Enes Kanter, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
No ish. Can't believe people thought we had any chance at him. I mean, I was hoping it magically happened, but it was clear there was no way we'd get him.
No they aren't A couple of simple trades by the end of the year, and then the cap goes way up again next season
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA For Thunder, this was an easy decision. OKC offered Kanter in $62M-range, and always planned for possibility of a max offer sheet. Matches what I said previously when I said they'd already offered $15.5mil - what was another $2mil per year?
Thank you. It's all been related to the Kanter situation. The numerous people who actually thought we had a chance at Kanter.... The ignorance was nauseating. Regarding the Kanter $15.5mil offer.... I had a few people tell me I was wrong. My response was to point that out to those that said I was wrong.
Ypu mean you're basically that guy who always say, I told you! I told you! BUT DID YOU LISTEN TO ME! NO!
In the end I'm more than fine with OKC matching. Fans for both of the teams he's played for think he's a huge liability on defense (perhaps an understatement) and best used off the bench. Don't really need a MAX guy on the roster with those kind of qualities.
It will be interesting to see what we do with our cap room. I can't really think of any younger players that fit into the youth movement that some team would want to dump. Sure, we have cap space, but is there anyone we'd really want to add that a team would like to dump?
