While that may be true right now, I think it's smarter to take a flier on a 22 year old wing than a mid-twenties big, especially when you factor in the versitility and youth in our front court already.
Reminder: Olshey was interviewed during SL game. My Synopsis: CJ played well since getting minutes (post Wes-injury) and is a thing right now, Biebs played well during playoffs because of matchups. Don't expect too much right away, future bright though. My Starters: Dame/Henderson/Aminu/Davis/Plumlee Bench (which is also our "shooting" lineup) CJ/CJ/Crabbe/Vonleh/Biebs That being said, we'll have some interesting small ball lineups: Dame/CJ/Henderson/Aminu/Davis One report said that Aminu played much better at PF than SF.
Not that I necessarily disagree with you but I could see any of CJ, Meyers, Plumlee, Aminu, or Henderson easily being our second best player too. I don't think you can pair Davis/Plumlee in the same lineup since neither can shoot outside the paint. So one of them starts and one comes off the bench. One had a 20 PER; one started on team USA; both have had great stretches last season but both have some questions with their game.
Those starters wouldn't be able to score 80pts per game in the half court. We can't ever have the Aminu/Davis/Plumlee trio playing together since they're our 3 worst shooters on the team.
PG: Lillard | Frazier SG: McCollum | Connaughton SF: Aminu | Harkless | Crabbe PF: Leonard | Vonleh C: Plumlee | Davis | Kaman
Dame/crabbe/Leonard would be enough shooting to go with aminu and Davis Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There's no way pat is ahead of crabbe in the rotation on opening day. Not a chance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dame (35) / CJ (13) Pat (15) / CJ (20) / Crabbe (13) Aminu (24) / Hendo (24) Leonard (28) / Davis (10) / Aminu (10) Plumlee (28) / Davis (10) / Vonleh (10) Need to find minutes for Mo, Montero, Frazier and Kaman but there are only so many minutes.
Dame/Fraizer CJ/ Henderson / Connaughton Aminu/ Crabbe /Harkless /Montero Vonleh /Davis Plumlee/ Meyers /Kaman
C Mason Plumlee Chris Kaman PF Ed Davis Meyers Leonard Noah Vonleh SF Al-Farouq Aminu Allen Crabbe Moe Harkless SG Gerald Henderson C.J. McCollum Pat Connaughton PG Damian Lillard Tim Frazier
I don't care about wins AT ALL, so my rotation would be Lillard/Frazier CJ/Crabbe/Henderson Harkless/Connaughton/Aminu Vonleh/Davis Leonard/Plumlee/ See what we actually have for the games in two years that will matter and go. If the starters suck getting big minutes then trade their asses
The thing is if you don't give the most minutes in the best players you send the whole team the wrong message. If you give somebody like Crabbe more minutes then Henderson just because he's younger, you're essentially sending the message that you don't have to work for or earn playing time. Even if we don't care about winning, we still need to go all out after every win, because that's what will make these guys better.
I agree - the minutes for the young guys have to be there, but not gifted. To start the season, assuming the roster were to stay as it is: Dame / Frazier Henderson / CJ / Pat Aminu / Crabbe / Harkless Leonard / Vonleh Plumlee / Davis / Kaman Hopefully with improved games, by the break I would like to see: Dame / Frazier Crabbe / CJ / Pat Aminu / Harkless / Henderson Leonard / Vonleh Plumlee / Davis / Kaman And in both cases, we better run, run, run. We have plenty of guys who can run the floor, particularly the bigs, and I think that is our best chance of scoring some points. I'm not looking forward to everybody doubling Dame every time he crosses the timeline - it happened last year with starters that could shoot, it is bound to continue happening unless we move it fast IMO. Loving the pace that Frazier is showing at SL, and also the handles, passing, and ability to get to the rim. I think he will be a good piece, but will get mauled on defense. We also need another vet. Would Wright be worth a look as a locker room vet and the 3rd string SF?
i don't see why everyone likes Vonleh, heck most people thinks we should start him over Legend. LillardTime (34)-cj (10)-Frazier (4) Hendo (26)-cj (20)-pat (2) Aminu (24)-crabbe (24)- luis (garbage time only) Leonard (30)- Vonleh (10)- ed davis (8) Plumlee (28)- davis (12)-leonard (8) i would really likes us go 12 deep for the first couple weeks of the season just to get an idea of each player. then use the best momentum lineup.
We have one starting position filled; PG. The other 4 starting positions and all 5 backup positions are up for grabs. There is no way to predict a player rotation based around knowing only one starter. Players will earn their minutes. Play them all and let the devil sort the bad ones out.
I would start the year: Lillard / Frazier Henderson / CJ / Con Aminu / Crabbe / Harkless Davis / Leonard / Vonleh Plumlee / Leonard Late in the year w/development: Dame / Frazier ?? / CJ / Con (hopefully Henderson and Crabbe involved in a trade for a SG) Aminu / Harkless Vonleh / Davis Leonard / Plumlee
