I am exhausted but please as can be. I sort of hope to find a more casual pace for the next few weeks.
Yay! Way to go, Marzy! She's a beaut! When are we christening her with copius quantities of Coors Light?
MarAzul at her dock in the home port of Bandon. The trip across the Coquille river bar was exciting after a week of heavy weather on the South Coast. When we approached the bar it was breaking all the way across the bar. From the North Jetty to the South, even though it was nearing high tide. I decided to take her in anyway and she handled the event superbly. As we neared the bar, within a 150 yards of the South Jetty, a large wave gather to break just astern of the boat. MarAzul got on the face of the wave and picked up speed, matching the speed of the wave. She was surfing! The steering firmed up with the increase speed an she was totally under control. At no time during those intense moments did I feel we might broach. We shot in through the turbulence and into calmer water is seconds. Sweet it was! It was expected she would surf a steep wave but she exceeded expectations. The skipper/designer was very pleased. However, the coast guard was not so pleased and the young man in charge let the skipper know about it. Ah, but it was worth it!
I probably shouldn't post this, but what the hell! http://theworldlink.com/news/neighb...cle_d6d0be00-3c9c-5a99-ae9e-630becde8dd0.html
Also you better make sure you have some Blazer clothes for the trip because you're a shoe in for the Where in the World contest. You take the pictures and I'll get them to the Blazers.
Great point. In fact, with this site being somewhat affiliated with the team, maybe it could be an update the Mikes do game to game?
Good idea! Perhaps the Blazers would like to send some gear along on the voyage. A spinnaker with the Blazer logo on it would be good. I could get that in shots often.
