So many players, especially once they leave one team for another, get vilified. Some players deserve that stigma while others don't. My question is, what is unforgivable to you, and what can you let slide. For example, I hated when we got Ruben Patterson because the crimes he committed were unforgivable to me, but others on the board loved his heart and hustle to the point that he was a fan favorite. Felton did one of the biggest on the court NoNo's, he didn't try, and he let himself get donut laden out of shape. Thats an on the court issue I will not forgive. Meanwhile, Zbo was a wild, weed smoking menace who punched a player and was always on the cusp of getting into big trouble. I never had a problem with that zbo stuff more than wishing he would grow up, so it would be very easy to forgive him. Now, we get to our most recent crop of Blazers. Did any of them do something that you can't forgive?
Cant forgive Taking max money knowing your knees were about to explode. Taking advantage of an organization that couldnt afford not to re-sign you because of PR. Then retiring and then signing to play with a division rival forcing our owner to amnesty instead of a medical waive, setting our franchise back years. Also, anyone who embarrasses the team or city of Portland... (see jailblazers)
Saying you want to be the best blazer ever then Shitting on us by leaving for nothing. Shitting on the city if Portland when a young punk became an alcoholic on his own, along with punching your girl in the face Distancing ones self from an organization and fans that wanted badly to annoint you the chosen one. Sure your knees blew out and you can no longer play, but why can't you be a team ambassador or stay involved?
The Blazer with the most and worst on court issues, without a doubt, and no close second place, the most unforgivable player was Sheed. Sheed’s bad behavior cost the Blazers a lot of points during games. Plus Sheed’s ejections from games made it more difficult for the Blazers to win games.
Sheed isn't close to as bad as oden. Id even put Roy and lamarsha as worse than him Now too. And even Clyde. Because that asshole only wants to associate with Houston. To be honest, I wish we had a player on our team now that was as passionate at Sheed. I wouldnt mind a technical or two.
I can forgive Sheed because he played good defense and according to almost everyone he played with, he was a good teammate. And he was entertaining. And he was a winner. Yes, we didn't win it all but he got us two WCF appearances including Game 7 in 2000 in which he played very well. I can't forgive LaMarcus for screwing us over and he ended his career in Portland with no real playoff legacy. I always believed we'd eventually win one with him. It's like he was useless. A mere footnote in Blazers history.
LaMarcus Aldridge ditching a good Blazers team with potential to be a contender. Damon Stoudamire bitching about playing time and Greg Anthony in the 4th Quarter in the later rounds of the playoffs, then crying to Jason Quick about it and throwing the team under the bus. Darius Miles being a lazy piece of shit.
Good one, though I'd throw in "negotiating through the press" to get a huge contract when you had bad knees.
