Thought he deserved his own thread. Really impressed by him and evidently he's added 20 pounds this offseason. He's built just like jamal mashburn and his game is very similar to bosh, but his ball handling is a welcomed surprise. It's still early but we might've stolen him from Charlotte.

I haven't had the luxury of watching the last 2 games, but have seen the box scores followed the games via Twitter and watched the video clips. I am thinking Vonleh is looking pretty damn good. Looks more fluid than I expected and is a big big kid. Seems to have decent handles for a big guy too. What have the rest of you noticed?

I knew Vonleh had a ton of natural talent that needed to be developed. I loved the trade. But, what I didn't realize was how much fire he plays with. Its a pleasure to watch him dive on the floor and crash the glass. I think we got a good one.

I thought one of the knocks was that he didn't have a good motor. So far that's completely inaccurate.

Funny I was just looking for his thread. I think we got a real nice lottery pick for Nic. (Plus whatever Henderson gives us)

But like most lottery picks he is still a work in progress. But damn he has a lot of potential. He reminds me a little of Shawn Kemp when he first came to the league. (with slightly less hops but better range) Next year he will still be very inconsistent and frustrating to watch at times, but the year after........look out.

As long as he has a good attitude and keeps working on his game we will have our PF of the future.
I envision him having a lot of turnovers this year until he learns when and when not to dribble. But it's a learning experience and we just have to live with his mistakes for a while.

Right now it looks like a great trade.

Maybe this will be one of those cases where getting traded is a wake-up call.

    Please?

We could use some good news!

At 19......... I needed a wake up call every morning.
Seriously though you really think he was slacking after just 1 year in the league?
That maybe a little too quick to judge.

For the billionth time, I really think missing training camp as a rookie really slowed him down last year, just like CJ is his rookie year. It's almost creates a wasted season.

We all saw how much that affected CJ and he was a four year college pick. Vonleh was a fucking teenager. So much worse.

I think we're just used to LaMarcus' motor which is like a 12-cylinder Jaguar. Starts three times a year and spends the rest of the time in the shop.

In a year or two he could become something really special and should be a lot of fun to watch this year even with expected growing pains.

Oh shit. Not the ubiquitous "added 10-20 lbs. of pure muscle in a couple of months" bollocks.

Anyway, I like him and think that with a couple of more seasons he might be a really nice player.

Will have to watch him more closely. Only seen a couple of summer league games.
