If either one of them could guard a statue, Vonleh and Leonar_ would be a tough defensive assignment for teams going big or small with their ability to stretch the floor.

Vonleh has to better defensively than Leonar_....
    Right?

MM, go back and watch Leonard on Gasol. It's obvious you missed it the first time.

    Vonleh a SF?

    Haha. That's a good one.

    He's a Post 4.5 to compliment Meyers' Stretch 4.5 :)

on top of what we've seen from him so far, dude's still just a baby at only 19 years old. he could end up developing into a complete beast!

Regarding the Bosh comparisons, yeah Bosh is taller, but wingspan and standing reach are close.

Bosh: 7'3.5" wing; 9'1" standing reach
Vonleh: 7'4.25" wing; 9'0" standing reach
    Aldridge: 7' 4.75 wing; 9'2" standing reach

Saw it. Look at Gasol s num ers and usage. Leoarx was abused when Gasol wanted to. You will see this year. These great defensive strides are fabricated by fans. Hopefully i am wrong and dont know anything about the game like some say.

You know a lot about the game and I respect your opinion. However, the fact is Meyers slowed Gasol down better than anyone during a portion of the series. Multiple post-ups resulted in missed shots by Gasol with Leonard on him.

I can think of 5 off the top of my head. Prince, Pippen, Batum, Odom, and Grant Hill.

Why is it such a laugh? Think Wallace/Grant or Wallace/Robinson they did well together. Vonleh appears to be more of a shooter/penetrator/finisher than a post up guy.

Meyers absolutely did that as well as any other big Portland had especially later in the series. Compared to the lost 'deer in the headlights' version of Leonar_, he actually bodied him up, held his ground and challenged shots. I'd like to see the matchup comparisons for the last couple of games when Leonard guarded Gasol and I'll bet they are quite good especially given where Meyers was coming from in terms of improvement.

i wouldnt say light bulb, people have been commenting on him learning to put his arms straight up for a year or so. its a slow gradual improvement, but maybe like someone you see every day, you havent noticed because you havent bothered to actually look.

i think the playoffs were exciting for the fans because as we watched the games, Gasol was clearly having a tougher go of it against Nards than he was against Rolo. im not sure where you were going with the "gasols numbers and usage", but it was pretty obvious that Nards was playing decent defense.

Stotts thought as much last year too. Look at his DNP.

Just curious. Should we get attached to him since he will probably be traded in a couple of years? I mean why put names on the back of the jerseys?

That's true. We lost three free agents for nothing. Forgot about that.
