Was looking for a thread to post stuff about other teams/rookies in summer league and didn't see one, so here we go.

I would like to say that DeAngelo Russell has not been very impressive so far. I still think he will be a good NBA player, but it's looking like it might not be as quick as many assumed. Imagine if in 3 years the organization goes through a huge change when Jim Buss steps down. If Russell isn't a star by then could you see them getting rid of him and then he becomes a superstar.

I believe we play Boston next which will probably be our last game. After seeing Crabbe go down I think we can all agree we have seen enough and are ready to take it to the season. The Celtics have been killing everybody this summer, so I'm not too worried about it. Boston will probably end up winning it all this year.

Has anyone watched the Lakers games, or any others and want to comment on players?

Bobby Portis who was my favorite player in this draft has been a beast.

I was actually going to look for the SL thread about 10 minutes ago so I could post about how disappointing Russell has been but I was too lazy. Glad you brought him up.

Mudiaye has much better court-vision/awareness than I was expecting. He's a legit PG and not a combo like Russell.

Towns is going to be good but I think he's going to be on the LMA tier rather tham the Duncan tier.

Mo Ndour looks legit. Nice find by NY.

Okafor looks more 6'9"/6'10" -- Porzingis made him look like a midget.

Laker fans were talking about how he is going to bring them a championship next year.

I noticed him. I looked him up and he was only 2nd team for his conference and weighs around 200lbs! That can't be right. But he's had several good games. He's sort of the Branden Dawson of Las Vegas.

Russell has been having a meh Summer League but I stand by my statement that he will be the best player in this draft.

He really has. He seems very natural on the court. It's just I think Russell has that "killer instinct" in him.

Winslow has been pretty meh in the summer league games. I seriously thought he was much better than this.

Makes up for the fact they lucked out of Ty Lawson.

Porzingis is going to be a nightmare.

My favorite prospect in this draft. His shot selection so far had been meh but his defense looks solid already.

    A 7'3" Kirilenko.

I didn't watch much of him in college, but he looked like a mid-first round pick to me. I'll have to watch more to see if I missed something that everyone else saw in him...

D'Angelo Russell finally had a decent game, going 10-20 for 21 points. BUT: he shot NO fts (I thought he was supposed to be Hardenesque?) and recorded 1 assist (I thought he was supposed to be a phenomenal passer?)

He'll probably turn out to be fine, but I hope there are some freaking-out Lakers fans right now.
