He was dismissing his faceoff and checking ability compared to D. Moore. Well, Fast was a better defensive player than Moore by quite a bit come playoff time. Moore is a good 4th line guy. IMO, he slipped a little last year. A lot had to do with idiot Glass bringing him down. Lindberg was an elite faceoff guy in the elite league and his defensive game is very solid. Brooks is a moron.

He's such a bitter, jackass. He does no research on any of our prospects. He interviews players on the team, if they are nice to them he forgets it's a business and thinks they should be overpaid. He made Hagelin out to be star. He's a role player whose offense has declined 4 years in a row. I guarantee Brooks knew jack about Fast other than he was a Swede.
I think Brooks at times is privy to information that other beat writers don't have access to as quickly, so he gets reads. Basically, he has a few connections. That said, I've moved on from Brooks. His inside information is not frequent enough to make up for his awful column (which is filled with baseless speculation & hockey ignorance). I've been sticking with blogs or will wait for the Rangers organization website (or Blueshirts United) to give us the news. Lately, I've been reading Bobby Bevilacqua's blog @ http://therangerzone.com/. Good guy and a die-hard fan that has been very active on twitter and blogging about the Rangers' moves this postseason. It's apparently only a Wordpress Blog and I don't think he has many followers, but give him a shot.
Welcome to the boards. Brooks just mails it in these days and writes against the grain stuff simply for a reaction. He writes idiotic stuff about the Yankees also. Plus, Rangers wise he goes from doom and gloom to everything is wonderful constantly during the season.

Lou went to Toronto because he knows Babcock is a great coach. Babcock isn't stupid. He knows he might have another Datsyuk on his hands in Nylander. He just took another big time center prospect in Marner. Both are righty shots. He has a guy that looks like he will be a stud on defense in Rielly. He's got a power forward in JVR. You know super talented, Kadri is going to flourish with Babcock. He got three players in the Kessel deal that will all be good players for him. You watch. Toronto by next year will make the playoffs. Senile old Lou will have nothing to do with it but will look great because of Babcock.
