Michael Collins, the astronaut who took this photo, is the only human, alive or dead that isn’t in the frame of this picture, 1969

I've always been in awe, still whenever I see this float across my screensaver, no doubt one of my favorites, considering all things.....

and I damn near asked, "do you remember like most, where you were when Armstrong stepped down off the LM, onto the Moon"? Doh-ok, you'd be a couple yrs old, If my math is close......

I clearly recall where I was, (How about everyone else?), I had just pulled into a Truck Stop Diner on Route 66, on the outskirts of Gallup, NM. Got my Meal just in time, to see the LM touchdown, wait for Buzz and Neil to check out, and playing a game of Golf. No one left or entered that Diner once the LM was on the Moon. Not until hours latter, would people begin to leave.......as memorable as the day JFK or RFK died..........sorry MLK, I was fast asleep, and couldn't hear the gun shots in Memphis from Shreveport, or I'd of helped........

I even remember the exact meal I ate, a Open Faced Chili Burger, French Fries, a Coke, cup of Coffee, and Apple Pie ala mode........

Close very close, Rick you were born in May of 54, right....?

Me, June. of 53..........Back then, one got their drivers license at 16, and if desired a Class M, at 15 with a "Conditional" Permit til 16; then at 16, one's permit; became an unconditional license, at 16.

Motorcycle riders could receive their unconditional license then at 16. Driver's Ed was still taught in schools. Classroom time, then time in the car, and DL's were usually obtained at 16 then.......

I was riding my motorcycle, along with My Father on His bike; to Colorado and Western KS, during the Moon Landing. The irony of not knowing one day I'd make my living, doing stuff, my Grandfather ( who we went to visit, on that trip); swore was only done in a Movie Studio(s).....

and there wasn't a thing anyone could say to convince him otherwise....!

.......to think, we could legally drink at 18, in most states other than CA, then.....!!
