The biggest part of Gardner's game that pisses me off is his lack of running, April & May = 12 SBs. Since May 24th he's only had 3 He has not even attempted a SB since June 12th & in that time he's been on base via a hit or a walk 52 times. My question is obvious, WHAT THE FUCK IS HE WAITING FOR?
Honestly that IS a GREAT Idea..........no kidding........ I saw a long interview years ago, after Henderson retired, with the Question presented to Him: "How did you know when to take off to 2nd, were you watching the Pitchers feet cross the rubber?" Ricky: "no, I always watched the Pitchers elbow"??? with no explanation given, (which elbow, why....??, those were the questions NOT asked)........
A good Q at that Rick......... 15 SB's, with 3 times caught stealing, 1/5 the time Brett has attempted to take 2nd, he's been more successful this year, than even in 011, when He set his season high with 49 SB's, with 13 CS-ing..... Maybe he's only been thrown out 3 times, cuz he or Pitcher's know He's no threat??? Time to show the AL that He can be a threat, especially now with Ellsbury back in the lineup. Small ball, get 'em on, get 'em over, drive 'em in........ But Ellsbury hasn't hit his stride in the 1st half, with 14 SB's and 6 CS, I don't get it, not after Ellsbury's 013 campaign of : 2013- 52 SB's with 4 CS 09- 70 SB's with 12 CS 08- 51 SB's with 11 CS something has got to give on the basepaths.......!!!
