Blazers summer school: The 5 stages of basketball grief

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

I'm at step 4.5.....depressed and holding a grudge. The stage where having sunshine pumped up my behind just makes it worse. The stage where I don't even want to watch the game unless you promise me human sacrifice at halftime...and free hot fudge sundaes. Chocolate is always good.

I left acceptance in the dust a week ago. I'm onto "Dreaming". Meyers and CJ will emerge as AllStars. Amina will develop an outside shot and the whole team will gel into a cohesive unit by December. 56 wins, baby! !

I have this emerging feeling as a fan this upcoming season...I'm still emerging. Game threads are going to be brutal, this much I know

Will HCP and MB continue to watch games with their rainbow and unicorn glasses?

It's been a long time since I've seen the high plains of Expectation
And I'm way past the lowlands and the deserts of Failure and Doubt
And the last time I passed through Satisfaction
I felt like a stranger there
Now I'm leaving Normal and I'm heading for Who Knows Where

Now I'm leaving Normal wherever I'm heading
I don't care

I dont think sheed will go to the pistons. He has unfinished business here. That championship run was just him trolling Detroit from the lottery. He will be back.

Not being at 1 or 3 made it easier to get from 2 to 5.

Sly, you been depressing me lately, but your so even keeled, I cant tell when your serious or not. :)

Do you REALLY think we are a bottom feeder team next year, or do you think we will compete for middle of the pack potential 8th seed?

I know, still many unknowns, most of which I think is the coaching style and how steer these guys, but your bumming me out man...

Sorry for depressing you.

Yes, I firmly believe we will be a bottom feeder.

It would harmful to our recovery if we were the 8th seed. We need our first round lottery pick back from Denver to give NO more assets to work with.

I don't mean to bum you out. You're a good guy and I enjoy your posts.

I'm sorry too. Now about our bet... You gonna give me 2/1 odds?

It's July in Oregon. There are trials to hike and and fish to catch. I'm still in stage 1, we have cap room, we can still trade to get LA back right?

dang, sly...I might paypal you some money

Those odds were set July 8th and should be higher in October.

It's hilarious that even with the Batum trade the Hornet's are 350 to 1 to win the championship.

Well damn it all! Thanks. :)

Im not saying there is such a thing as having too many assets, but do you really think that one lotto pick would be the difference maker?

See, in my opinion, with how young our youth is, if we can battle for the 8th seed, even if we don't make it, the confidence boost to this team will be more valuable than what the probably outcome of that lottery pick.

I believe that if we can battle for that 8th spot at the end of the season, we go into the off season looking really good. a fringe playoff team with tons of cap space and players who are still on the upside. Find that other all star who wants to join and the following season can be very real. :)

You don't see that being viable?

Also, do you think the talent of this team is only good for 20, or we will be tanking? Needing to get the lottery pick is much different than saying we are a lottery pick team. IF you truly believe that this is a lottery team, then I understand why you put more importance in retaining the pick, but if you don't think that, but think we need to tank or play poorly to retain it, then I disagree with you. I think that shows we are better than most think and we should let them play and improve.
