Would you trade a prime Kobe Bryant for a prime Shaq?I would, Shaq always wins....he makes everybody better no matter what. Kobe is just now doing that.
yes, as Frank Layden puts it "you can't teach height". A good bigman is always going to get you victories, plus a decent 2 guard is a dime a dozen these days.
Yeah, definitely. Shaq is one of a kind and was arguably the most dominant big man in the history of the game. Right now, there's no one even near as good as he was in his prime. Like redneck said, a good two guard comes around a lot more often.
Assuming everyone else is in their prime you could probably count the number of players throughout history that you would take over a prime Shaq on one hand. :happy0144:
I would definately take shaq, no matter what. Shaq in his prime is just flat out not guardable. no one can stop him once he gets low position especially when he was in his prime. Kobe is a great scorer and all but shaq can dominate the interior like no other
Definitely. You can always find a good SG/SF who can score, but a Shaq is almost impossible to find. He was so dominant in his prime.
A dominant big man always brings success. Guards are very common as well. But it mostly depends on what you got. Still, Shaq would be a good trade for Kobe just because he's so dominant. But on the Lakers right now, no. They don't need a big man right now when they have 2 good ones in Brown and Bynum.
This is a very easy comparison. If you watched Shaq in his prime, their was nobody on the planet that can stop them. With big men, it takes more than just good defenders to stop a man, it takes size. And their was nobody close to his size that could stop him.....Also, if you replaced Kobe with another good guard when the Lakers won their 3 rings, they could have still won it. They couldnt have with another good center besides Shaq. The Lakers of today arent dominant, and the lakers back then were, because of Shaq, not Kobe. When Shaq used to get injured, and Kobe had to do it alone, the team didnt have a good record what so ever. It speaks for itself....
Kobe is a replacable piece. The amount of good scoring wing players in the NBA is really high, and recently it seems like there have been more wing players than ever in the draft. Shaq is a huge, unmovable, unguardable force in the middle. There isn't a player in the NBA right now who could defend him in his prime without pussing out and fouling him. Shaq in a heartbeat.
