well said BLG, i don't even know where to begin.. joined the espn board years ago thinking the experience i had would fit in here somewhere, lol, but holy snikes, what a mistake i made! i really don't know what the goal is that the guys you are referring too are trying to do, imo, they have already gotten 1 board shut down, are they trying for 2? and let me be perfectly honest, i know 2 wrongs don't make it right, my intentions were to never get personal, or use any kind of profanity, not to respond after the constant barage is impossible , and then when you do it, they all attack, lol, as if you have no right to defend yourself , you get blamed for going on the attack, lol, then i'm told not to fan the flame and should be banned, stay away from the OT threads, lol, what the....
There are no issues at all with someone taking a position that goes completely again board consensus. But you have to realize you have a minority stake and its not personal when everyone challenges that stake. It's not personal, or piling on, everyone should get their fair shot and responding. Now unfortunately these instances have been misinterpreted as personal attacks and then shit spirals out of control. It is the responsibility of the minority position poster to not escalate things out of control. Learn to back off, end the discussion or make piece. I personally have been on the short side of the discussion in at least three instances this year (and counting)....including my PEDs stance, Captain Gardner, and Rose to the HOF. Make your points and move on. There is an art form to being in the dissent; it requires intellect to craft an argument, keen people senses to read your audience, and really think skin plus a short memory. Agent provocateur is a role for a seasoned boarder.....not a rookie.
"not to respond after the constant barage is impossible , and then when you do it, they all attack, lol, as if you have no right to defend yourself , you get blamed for going on the attack, lol, then i'm told not to fan the flame and should be banned". __________________________________ Pasta- you expressed yourself and a fairly common experience very well. I can remember (and it continues) facing similiar situations and I couldn't put my finger on the "problem" until I soon enough observed and put two and two together. First off - we have to realize there are only Eight solid regulars on the board excluding you and myself, with occasional visits by maybe two more. Secondly - In my situation, since very early on in ST, not intentionally, I happen to either land on the other side of the fence, or not being firmly on the side of 80-90% of the "regulars" regarding the Yanks' off season trades, player signings, Arod expectations and whether or not to root for him, Cashman not being an idiot, general opinion of Hal Steinbrenner, and having higher expectations, anticipating a better overall W-L record for the 2015 team. And I find it interesting that 80-90% (possibly more!) of the "regulars" agree with each other on all of those various 2015 Yankee issues. So be it....we all have opinions.
For the last time. Move on from this bullshit already. Everyone else has been making an attempt. You're simply drumming up nonsense after realizing you're being ignored by some. Change the channel already.
Mess, I had moved on...I wanted to (and should've) begun my reply/post #91 to Pasta by saying "just between you and I" - because I really do agree with the portion of his post I quoted and really thought he laid it out pretty well and it needed to be said. That's all - consider me being "moved on".
Between you and I would be something called a private message which isn't too hard to figure out. It's obviously not between you and I when you're posting for everyone to see. That being said hopefully this is the end of the nonsense.
