Not happy the Angels are starting to tear shit up. They're a likely first round opponent if the Yankees hold on in the East.
The Yankees will gain 3 up when they play my O's starting tonight. Watch, the O's will blow this grand opportunity. I'm used to it.
...if the Yanx sweep the O's the divisional race could just about be over...2nd half schedule really favors the Yanx.
ESPN was pimping the Red Sox at the start of the Yankee Series.. I heard Wedge pimping them again yesterday saying that the Division is weak and anything could happen. Nine games under, nine games back 4 teams to pass, they need a whole bunch of acquisitions to put that team in passing gear.
Which would give them a false sense of security heading into the post season should they make it which I still consider to be a big IF
In the division 6 left against Tampa, 9 each vs Baltimore/Boston, 13 against Toronto who can mash and lead in the season series. Remember Cashman, snooze you lose!
...you just never know how much a GM says is true...Cashman says that it's very possible that the Yanx stand pat as far as the trade deadline goes...I hope he's only posturing and not wanting to tip his hand even though he's admitted 2B is a problem. Considering the pitching depth I don't see the Yanx making a splash and acquiring a starting pitcher. ...if they do make a move I think it's gotta be at 2B...the Yanx have been linked to Zobrist and Utley but Utley IMO, makes no sense at all.
Dumbshit should have never ley Prado go but I'd agree that with the versatility factor Zobrist would be a damn good piece.
The Yankees are causing some separation in the East, lets hope it continues by taking the series from the Orioles.
Yup, big games coming up against Baltimore and Minnesota. They can really put themselves in a good spot playoff wise if they can do well here.
After their 1st Home Rainout on Sunday, in 20 years....Yes, (not a HF rain out in 20 yrs). Rarely does it rain hard enough in L.A. to have rain outs, most rain storms are simple drizzly mist, while Sunday it fkn poured.... enabling yesterdays double-header: Angels in sole possession of 1st place in the AL East........ winning 15 of their last 18 games; (since their streak began) dating back to June 27, the Angels have outscored their opponents, 101-43. Trout and Pujols combined, have 57 HR's; 12 more than the entire Braves Team.......perhaps the modern day bash brothers, but not the M&M boys, the TP boys.......(ie, "Here's some TP, now wipe the tears off yer face) Bosox fans....... I found this short clip rather interesting, and something I did not know; as follows: Albert Pujols passed Mike Schmidt on Monday, with three home runs in one doubleheader. Pujols remembers Schmidt as the Phillies legend who showed up at the Cardinals' Spring Training facility in 2002, to speak with the team about how to prepare for the grind and act like a professional. Pujols was only 22 then, entering his second season and still wondering what he was going to do, who he was going to be, in this game. And if somebody would've told that Pujols about someday hitting 549 home runs, moving into 15th place on the all-time list "http://m.angels.mlb.com/news/article/137671558/pujols-passes-mike-schmidt-on-homer-list
