    Here's a twist for the history buffs, of the franchises that have never won an NBA title, who can field the best all time team?

    CLE comes to mind because of LeBron and CIN/KC/SAC for Oscar, and both of those franchises have had many very good players, but no other truly all time great superstars. BUF/SDC/LAC Clippers have let a surprising amount of great individual players slip through their fingers. DEN has fielded some pretty damn good teams at various times, but I think it comes down to UTA and PHO, the only franchises that have won 60+ games three times, but never won a title, for the best all time team of the non-champions. UTA had Malone and Stockton, as well as Maravich and Adrian Dantley, but I think I'd have to go with Sinobas and pick PHO, due to their depth, as the non-title team with the best all time roster due:

    PG: Nash,K.J.,Kidd
    SG: Paul Westphal, Dennis Johnson, Hornacek
    SF: Walter Davis, Larry Nance, Marion
    PF: Barkley, Connie Hawkins, Tom Chambers
    C: Stoudamire, Shaq, Alvan Adams

    As much as it pains me to say it, the Lakers trotting out Kareem and shaq is pretty darn ridiculous.

    I'd put wilt on phila though.

    wilt was a warrior longer than a 76er, so i would put him with the warriors.

    curry/ hardaway
    mullin/ thompson
    barry/ arizin
    thurmond/ webber
    wilt/ johnston

    that's a pretty good team.

    ORL T-Mac, yes. HOU T-Mac, no.

    T-Mac never made it past the 1st round in HOU. His best season in HOU was his first, and then he went into gradual decline until his back finally gave out on him. Here's how his best season in HOU compares to Harden's best (so far):

    Tracy McGrady 2004-05:
    PPG = 25.7
    RPG = 6.2
    APG = 5.7
    PER = 22.9
    WS = 12.0
    WS/48 = .180
    VORP = 7.0
    Team Record = 51-31
    Playoffs = Lost Western Conference 1st Round
    MVP Voting = 7th

    James Harden 2014-15:
    PPG = 27.4
    RPG = 5.7
    APG = 7.0
    PER = 26.7
    WS = 16.4
    WS/48 = .265
    VORP = 7.8
    Team Record = 56-26
    Playoffs = Lost Western Conference Finals
    MVP Voting = 2nd

    Harden's individual stats are better, especially the advanced stats (PER, WS and WS/48) and his team did better in both the regular season and the playoffs. Admittedly, I enjoyed T-Mac's style of play more, but in terms of production and results, the nod goes to Harden.

    Considering the relative dearth of great players to wear the Blazers colors, I have to say we Blazers fans are a resilient, determined, and devoted bunch.

    OF MASOCHISTS!!

    This thread was a bad idea.

    I had forgotten how short his tenure was with GSW, because I will always remember him as part of "Run TMC". As an aside, looking back at the transaction detail, it's sad how little value GSW netted from that deal--trading Richmond and a pick for Billy Owens, who was basically average for 3 years before he was dealt for Rony Seikaly, who was below average for two years and was then traded for three scrubs. Basically, they gave up the prime all-star years of a hall-of-famer for nothing. Probably worse than us giving up Jermaine O'Neal.

    well, if Chris Mullin hadn't have been racist, and Mitch a little too fashionable for Hardaway's gaydar, maybe they'd still be there. I'm sure Don Nelson was drinking too much at the time. /canzano

    The only problem with that unbelievable lineup is you have 4 centers and no true PFs. Karl Malone played with them for a year if that counts. Rambis was an incredible enforcer.

    What makes a "true" PF, and what makes it superior to a true center? I mean, do you honestly think that if the Jazz had traded Malone for Shaq that they would have been less successful?

    They were saying that on the radio too, but im not so sure about that. I think we would be a playoff team.

    Lets list all the teams best and see how we stack up side by side.

    Edit: Piss poor typing....

    Can the same player play for two teams? Moses Malone for Philly and Houston?
