I saw the quick stats and spoke too soon. Now that Ive watched footage, he sure looks better than Frazier. Damn. I really like Frazier. Dude has a mile wide smile on 24/7. How can you not like the kid?

Similar to Frazier. I think Pressey has the advantage with his handle and passing -- he actually can get into a defense and create openings for teammates, and he's very creative with the dish. Frazier is more athletic. Neither have shown an ability to score.

Fully guaranteed contract. Probably means the end of Frazier.

It's just as well; he had a Jarrett Jack turnover streak a mile wide.

Since we don't own a D League team anymore who is our affiliate? Frazier and Alexander are likely going there.

It looks like the Fort Wayne Mad Ants are the Blazers (and 12 other NBA teams) D League affiliate.

My guess is Luis Montero will be the first to be sent down.

I wish we got our own D League team and put it up across the River.

And Pressey seems like Frazier bit with a better jumper and better control of the game

Pressey is a better version of Frazier that can shoot the rock. Maybe I'm crazy, but I've never been big on Frazier. An undersized PG that can't shoot. 4 on 5 out there basically with no worry of the guy penetrating and scoring because he's 5'10". Atleast Pressey can shoot the rock.

Frazier can shoot just fine, he's an effective scorer, just not looking for his own shot like Pressey.

If by "fine" you mean 37% FG and 16% 3PT in summer league then yes he accomplished that. I suppose the summer league FG% is an improvement on his 34% NBA average although his long range shooting was worse than his NBA 29% 3PT. But somehow you think of him as an "effective scorer". He's also small at 6'1" and I'd say a less than great defender.

The Blazers signed a fully guaranteed Pressey contract a week after Frazier wrapped up his audition. Frazier contract can be cut before the season. I'll be shocked if Tim's on the opening day Blazer roster.

Maybe he had a bad shooting game or two but when I saw him he was taking mostly good shots and also making them. He's a very good decision maker, probably our best floor-general, he runs a team better than Lillard, better than Pressey. In SL, after Crabbe got hurt he had to take shots he wouldn't have taken if he had real players around him, he's an awesome talent.

You know a person has never watched pressey play when they claim he's a shoot first point guard.

I heard last night that both Pressey and Alexander are only training camp invite contracts. Not fully guaranteed for regular season. Can someone confirm the type of contracts?

They should be signed because their guarantee is min for players in the NBA. We have to pay that amount regardless because we need a min of players. It's better than having million dollar players if they aren't worth that amount.

I think Olshey is just filling up the roster spots with players he can let go if a good player comes up. Kinda like hedging his bets

Okay, that makes sense. I was thinking these guys would just be training camp monkeys. He may not be done yet then and half these guys may not be here at the trade deadline. Hmmm..So many plausible scenarios.
I personally LOVE that NO and Stotts aren't showing cards and keeping things mysterious.

Makes for great forum banter anyhow. LOL

Why do people keep saying Pressy is a good shooter? Did you see his stats? They are terrible from 2,3 and the FT line.

Uh what? You don't have to pay that amount if you cut them. Pressey has a fully guaranteed salary for the whole season. It's very unlikely he gets cut.

Pressey will be guaranteed a little more than $900k this year I believe.
