When one calls a spade a spade the spade who is called a spade gets "offended". This political correct crap is a crock of shit. A friend of mine from England tells me its gotten to bad in Britain that a black board cannot be referred to as such, they call it a chalk board. I do feel sorry for the Dominican players though, their baseball skills land them high paying positions give them huge opportunities to get around the USA than claim they are "disrespected.

Pointing out well known facts about a country is now offensive.

Cowherd had announced in the beginning of July that he was leaving (Fox Sports) and he was continuing on at RPSN so they could find a replacement. Guess they did because this is kinda silly, actually I thought the joke was pretty funny. What's funnier are the DR ballplayers that want to show how smart they are.

Guys from DR should be careful not to create media attention right now as their country is carrying out a defacto genocide of their Haitian decent population. The humanitarian crisis this is creating will dwarf the Haiti earthquake.

    And many more stories

So Jose Bautista....before you tweet about ripping a radio host "a new one"..... Care to explain how you hail from the Latin America version of apartheid South Africa?

...Cowherd didn't really say anything that wasn't true, but yeah, he could have worded it a little differently.

Somehow I got to believe this was intentional. He knew the PC machine at ESPN would go nuts...great chance to get his name in the media right before his move. But then I'm a cynic. ;)

^^^oh, you can bet the bank that someone else will gladly give him another job...but you know how it is, anytime big business has an employee say something that might hurt someone's wittle feelings, they run for cover and hypocritically act like they they are taking the higher moral ground...instead of giving the employee an opportunity to clarify his statement or apologize before arbitrarily firing them.

...oh yeah, I now know he was leaving anyway...and like you said, this may have been some sort of "publicity stunt" to draw attention to him...for the wrong reason, but still.
...and IF what he said was such a moral crime, why would FOX take him on? Like I said, there's a lot of hypocrisy here.
...Again, I'm not a fan of Cowherd's but I just think the way companies handle some of their people "mis-speaking" is a bit much...I mean it's not like he said what he did with any intended malice toward Dominicans but was just speaking in general terms about something that is, well, let's face it, factual.

Yes, it: "Latin American" MLB players indeed make for 28% of all players in MLB. (According to the 2015 MLB Census).......

IMO, even tho' countries like the Dominican Rep.; Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dutch Antilles, Venezuela, Mexico, are all lumped in as Latin Americans Baseball playing Nations.

What we once called the Pan-Am games, we still call the Pan-Am games........
