I was wondering when he was going to restock our 2nd rounders. Looks like he just waited for the right time to make the transaction. Acquiring more assets for a minimal charge.

no, they did need to, b/c Haywood and Miller are going to cost them about 50M in total cash this year b/w salary and tax with almost no talent benefit. They still need talent, but now they can get 10M worth of talent and 2.8M worth of talent using the exceptions. I don't think Gilbert cares about paying tax for a winner, but not for the carcasses of Haywood and Miller. And cutting Haywood doesn't help them much b/c they can only sign vet min guys to replace his spot. This way they can find a "good" "overpaid" player to help them.

They already have enough talent to win the whole damn thing. They almost did it with two of their big three out. Their counter could be "fuck u and your request for a first rounder because we can just drop both and still win the kitty".

Anyone that assumes teams could get more can't seriously see the big picture.

I'm actually glad the Cavs will get stronger because of this.
Anything that we can do to help bother the Spurs is welcomed.

    Haywood's deal isn't guaranteed.

According to Lanny it is. Personally I haven't been there for almost 2 years.

I don't think it makes any sense in this stage of our re-calibration (or whatever) to give any playing time to veterans. Specifically, Aminu, Harkless, and Crabbe need all the time on the floor they can get, to either become better or prove they aren't NBA players. The same also applies to Kaman of course; I hope he understands the situation.

If we could use Miller and build his value, he would be perfect to use for another player mid season.

Just a few inbred fish in a very small polluted pond.

And Lanny! Trying to be the voice of reason.

I think that you have to consider that Cleveland also could have gone to Philadelphia with this and done the same deal; there is usually some competition when you can get something for nothing.

Not sure how to link tweets, but looks like Delladova is going back to Cavs, so negates the thought of this deal helps with them not matching if we offered.
