but its those instances where a SS ends up on the turf are exactly those types of plays that result in injuries. Recall, even Jeter only started 2 of 3 games in Toronto starting in his early 30's. you have to look at risks and probabilities is all I'm saying. I think Tulo lays it all out sometimes to justify his contract. That work ethics doesn't go away. Besides, if I'm Tulo I'd be pissed, this is a massive pay cut given the tax situation in Canada vs. Colorado.
It wouldn't surprise me, if, the Reyes becomes a Met, before the trade deadline; much like the Bums trade of Uribe, to the Braves, then a month later, traded to the Mets...... The Jays IMO, with Tulo, IMO, won't be much better than life before Tulo, not until the Jays strengthen up their Bull Pen, ie, their Achilles Heel........
Just checked the Tiger lineup, game starts in 45 minutes, regular lineup is in, Price is still the starter. Saw Dombrowski during game video of the last Tiger Game in Boston, he did not look happy. Detroit can probably hold steady on position players, Miggy is out but they still have fire power. Price excepted the staff is shaky, and their bullpen just flat out hurts.
...it's my understanding that the problem with playing on turf as opposed to grass is the pounding that the joints take from running all out...and that it's much more punishing to OFers than anyone else. ...Tulo did get an extra bonus as part of the trade...but I doubt it washes out how much it will cost him.
