Don't know if anyone picked up on this but not only did our bullpen (Moreno & Warren) hold the Rangers scoreless after there 1st inning but they also held them HITLESS!

But here's the head scratcher, did you also know that Warren was credited with a save? Someone has to explain this one to me. Pasta where are you?

He pitched effectively for atleast three innings so he gets credited with a save.

Moreno did a hell of a job to keep them in check. I'd like to see Crapuano gone.

I don't think you'd get an argument from anyone on that.

Rick, couple of other very interesting quirky things also popped into my head regarding last night's first inning and the final outcome.

I guess this is one for the Elias Sports Bureau and the answers to any of the following combinations should be interesting and appreciated.

    How often if ever, has:

    1) a team scored 5 runs in the first inn and lost the game.
Okay, this one may not be so "rare".

    2) a team scored 5 runs in the 1st inn and went hitless the rest of the way? and/or lost the game?

    3) How many times has a team scored 5 runs in the 1st inn and lost by a double digit deficit?

    4) How often has a team given up 5 runs (in 1st or any other inn) and came back to score more than 10 runs in their next immediate turn at bat?

    5) a team scored 5 runs in 1st inn and LOST by by at least 15 runs?

    6) To a lesser degree, how often has a team (Yanks) scored more than 10 runs in an inn without hitting a HR?

lol - outrageous numbers. A beautiful thing. :twothumbs:

So it doesn't matter for the run differential? I thought runs factored in?

Obviously the rule seems ridiculous in a game where the outcome is 21-5. That being said I don't think it's all too often that you get an outcome like that and even in blowouts does the pitching situation work out like that. In other words how many times do you win a game 21-5 in which your starter was knocked out in the first inning?

Rick, you took the words out of my mouth, (I know, I sleep til noon most days, even later on others; and am late to the victory party more often than not).......

Indeed, both Moreno and Warren, WERE the Un-Sung Heroes of Yesterday's game, being over shadowed by the Offensive Explosion, of 20 Hits, 21 Run barrage, and still left 12 on base..........this game could of had 30 runs.....!
